#1620 Saturday 12 August

We have three days .... starting last night .... of wild, wild weather .... and we can see the way it affects kids and dogs!  Teddy hides .... and Kaylia becomes the stimmy queen par excellence! 

This morning we have been shopping .... which for her means the opportunity to sit in the car and listen to her iPhone while I do the shopping ..... followed by a drive over to Duncraig to visit Aunty Maxine.  This means that she has another bubble bath .... the second for today .... while I natter with Maxine.  Then we came back to Midland and took lunch to Naomi .... then Kaylia and I have come home to wait for Naomi to finish work.  I have just banned myself from Kaylia .... she is 'looping' on "I like school." and she just would not control it.  So I remove myself.

#1619 Friday 11 August

We had to let her sleep in this morning .... she was awake from 4 to 5:30am .... quite happy and noisy.  I had a little chat at 5:30 and I think she then slept till 6:30.  Then she was upstairs like a shot!  (She seems to have accepted that she isn't to go upstairs till 6:30.)

Then she went back to sleep. 

I got her to school OK .... just a little later.

We have an aupair couple inquiry .... they sound good.  Watch this space!

#1618 Thursday 10 August

After school...... heading for the car....

Just before this, she had been waiting for the gate to be unlocked so she could get out.... she had been looking at me through the bars.... clearly wondering why she couldn't get out! 

#1617 Wednesday 9 August

Kaylia has developed into a decisive teenage girl who usually knows what she wants and can communicate fairly clearly. Tonight she has been waiting for Naomi to come inside from work..... to tell her stories!

Kaylia has had a good day at school... went on the bus... had Buckin Broncos for lunch... she is learning to use Pay Pass as well as cash.

#1616 Monday 7 August

It was another bad night.... she was up at 2 am.... settled and then woke at 4am..... I stayed down this time and she finally slept at 5:30am.  At shower time she didn't want to get out of bed.   She must have been tired during the day.... on the drive home she was upset.  It's probably a combination of full moon and PMB...... pre menstrual blues.  Hopefully she will sleep well tonight.

#1615 Sunday 6 August

The day started with an emailed resignation from a staff member.... Ho hum... now we start the process again.  It's hard work to find new staff .... then train them for the work.  This person today .... quit after one week because she was offered a better paying position.  I can't argue with that too much ... especially as it turned out that the person was making some pretty basic mistakes and these mistakes make a lot of work to correct!  So I'm happy that they moved on.  It's a learning experience for me about just how meticulous I need to be in the training process.

The task of finding a new aupair is continuing.....   no news yet.

Kaylia is very happy as usual.... this morning we were pondering when/if she will suddenly blossom from her shell.  (Refer to yesterday's post to make more sense of this.)

Now... midday..... we're on the op shop trail..... the routine for Sunday. 

Home again.  Kaylia is very happy ..... she comes out of her room and says "I like school!" and we say "Yes Kaylia .... you're going to school tomorrow!"  Her face lights up and she goes back into her room ... happy again.  We've also been having some 'tickle sessions' where she is tickled till she gives in.  She loves it.
