#578 Thursday 3 May

Drugs!
According to Naomi, I'm in a "drug-induced haze" ..... I took an 'oxy' last night to let me sleep and today I'm still drowsy. I have an ear ache that's quite painful.

Kaylia? ..... very happy. In a sense, you could say that her happiness is due to drugs! The Lovan allows her to be her natural self and I think she is just so happy to be free of the awful anxiety that normally afflicts her.

#577 Tuesday 1 May

She will be tired today! She woke at 2am and was then up till 5am. Probably because Naomi and I went out to a movie ... Ta Kat! .... and we didn't get home till 10:30.

Bed-time .....
Well she's proved me wrong! She's full of energy at 7pm. Naomi is out visiting her father and I'm "settling" Kaylia ... fat chance! She's happy as Larry. So I'm listening to my vampire stories and blogging.

#576 Sunday 29 April

After 3 days of diet-controlled meals, Naomi and I have both lost 1kg each! Kaylia likes the meals so it may work.
I went to the doctor on Friday ... I can stop the horrible tablets that have been causing all the problems. But I will be having surgery for enlarged prostate.
Today Kaylia is in her groove .... shower ..... shower .... shower ..... toys ..... office. Later I'll take her out for a scooter session. So far she is getting the idea. I may go looking for a skate park so her enthusiasm can be "re-fuelled" .... but it's raining right now so this may not be a good idea.
Yesterday we had the first session with our new "garden helper" .... Louis is a final year plumbing apprentice with very similar interests to me ... so we get along well. The idea is to have someone who can help keep the garden under control and do other jobs that are getting beyond me.

Bed-time:
We went in the car to visit Naomi's father ... Kaylia on the back as usual. But today she had brought her "pink pillow" along for the ride. At one point we looked around .... and she had buckled PP into the seat-belt!

#575 Saturday 28 April

Midday .... I've just collected the Verada after the repairs .... the bill hurt! $1,790 for the failure of a part that cost $2.76
Ce la vie.

I had a good talk to Zoe this morning. She finishes her study in early June and might be back here in early September. She will notice the change in Kaylia!

#574 Friday 27 April

Day One of school is over ... Kaylia is happy to be back at school but tired out.
Scooter ..... I found a basic one that will allow us to see whether she really wants to ride a scooter .... if its just a whim then $20 is not very much. If she does want to ride, we can look for a better one.

Naomi's car is still in "hospital" ..... the a/c lost its gas on the weekend ..... the repair estimate is $1,200! (The dashboard has to be removed.). The fault was caused by the failure of a 20c 'o' ring!

Today is the start of the first rental period of the villa in Bali .... a significant event. It's been hard work to get to this point.

#573 Wednesday 25 April

Kaylia has trouble articulating the sounds of words .... she's at that stage of development. The good thing is that she has become aware of the problem and she's trying to do better. "school" = "gool"
She's mad keen to get back to school and we've been counting down the days. ...... And suddenly she gets the "sch" sound! ....Over and over! Yay!
Evening:
This afternoon we had a family outing on the river ... a skate park was nearby and Kaylia was fascinated. In addition to the big kids on skateboards, some little kids were on scooters. Kaylia clearly wants one and kept dragging us back to watch them.



So we start looking.

#572 Monday 23 April

During the night we had a very noisy possum climbing around outside our bedroom ..... This morning he's still there! There's a small hole into the roof space and he's decided that it's where he wants to go .... but he can't fit!




I'll wait till tonight to make sure he gets out .... then block the hole.
