#585 Saturday 12 May

Mothers Day tomorrow .... every one is talking about it.  This morning I was at the office helping with a group .... and one gorgeous little girl  had to send mummy away so she could whisper to me what her mummy was getting as a present!  It was a delight.  It won't be long now till Kaylia is able to understand and participate in the same way.
The same little girl ... when it was time for her to join the group for the session ..... didn't want to!  She wanted to stay with us in reception!
It's so good to be able to share experiences with other parents. (the person I'm talking to knows ... thankyou!)

#584 Thursday 10 May

Poor Kat is not well and she wisely spent the day in bed. I did the afternoon school run and Kaylia and I had a good time .... It was just doing my errands but she enjoyed it.
After tea she had a chocolate frog as reward and it was funny .... she was unwrapping the frog when she slipped .... the frog went flying and landed on my lap! I promptly grabbed it and said "Mine!" ..... well .... you should have seen her face ..... Shock ..... Horror .... How can this be? I quickly gave it back. Fortunate that I hadn't gobbled the frog!
Naomi is out tonight .... a work course. Kaylia is asking "I want mummy to come home."

#583 Wednesday 9 May

We had a real "blog moment" during tea tonight ..... Kaylia had finished her main meal and she was hovering .... wanting something more. She was going through her mental "menu" and got to ..... ?... After a bit I said "Honey!". Naomi then sang the first bit from the song in Winnie the Pooh .... quick as a wink Kaylia sang the rest of the line!
She's brilliant!
Conversations with her are now becoming real ..... she can share the things that she likes and dislikes. Progress is amazing. Not so long ago at breakfast time, all she could do was point to the food she wanted ..... Now I can just ask her "What do you want for breakfast?". .... and back comes a normal response .... cereal .... or biscuit .... or toast!

#582 Tuesday 8 May

I had a surprise in the mail tonight .... we've been flying so much since getting the villa that the airline have put me on the next level of frequent flyers! Of all the benefits, the one I like most is that I don't have to wait in queues at the airport .... they have a special check-in desk for 'Priority Members' .... I like it!
We went to the movies again tonight .... Kat is spoiling us rotten!

She's happy. She's a bit too stimmy but that's infinitely preferable to her being anxious and unhappy.
I got a cheap Bali flight today .... March next year .... $244 return.

Kaylia's increased rate of development continues.  The iPads have various apps designed to improve the mind and in the past I have tried to interest her in them (without success).  Now I see that she finds the apps and plays them .... with clear enjoyment!  She chuckles as she plays the memory games.    Its very rewarding.

She is now very keen on going to movies too! Of course the icecream and pop-corn are great incentives.  We're going to need to get a 'club membership' for her.  She is really looking forward to a movie tomorrow.

#579 Friday 4 May

Naomi was late home last night and Kaylia does her usual thing ... she stands guard!  She waits for Mummy to come home .... the slightest sound and she's at the window .... looking to see if the car has come in.  Once Naomi is home, Kaylee can relax and she soon goes to sleep.

The earache is much better ... 24 hours on antibiotics makes a world of difference.  (Memories of earlier times when Kaylia would have an earache and there was no way for us to know.  Now she can tell us.)
