#1267 Thursday 11 February

Kaylia works very hard at her speech ..... she still struggles but we often coach her through the problem sounds and she watches intently.   The other night she was wanting "Classical Baby Dance " on YouTube ..... classical comes out as a sort of "kwa-hi-ku" .... so we work on the tongue movement needed to get an L sound.   She listens very hard and after a couple of tries, she gets it!  Another one she struggles with is "splish-splash".

Jade comes back from Bali this morning..... She's missed out on our record breaking heat wave.

#1266 Tuesday 9 February

It's been a bad night .... Kaylia woke at 2am and didn't go back to sleep till 6am. I think I'll have to have a snooze today.

#1265 Monday 8 February

At bedtime last night Kaylia was so excited about going to school the next day ..... it took her ages to come back to earth and settle down to sleep.  ..... I can't use threats of "You won't be able to go to school!" etc...... I just keep talking her down and she eventually settles.

It's wonderful that she is enjoying school so much .... it's going to make a huge difference to her life in future years.

In the past few days we've had several bottles of cider explode!  For this brew I used some bottles that I got on "Freebies" and the bottles are clearly a bit old ..... the bottom of the bottle blows out.   It's a very nice tasting brew of cider ..... Hannah would love it.  Callum and Hannah are in New York at present .... almost home to UK.
April is pleased .... she has wanted a second job to save money .... and she has landed one on Friday and Saturday nights.  Now we just need to find a job for Jade.

Evening:
Kaylia's love/hate relationship with Teddy continues ..... I realised that we had run out of dog food so I asked Kaylia if she'd like to go for a car ride.  YES she says.  Then I say "We need to go and buy some food for Teddy."  Her immediate response is NO! .... and she stayed home.

#1264 Saturday 6 February

It had been ages ..... months ...... since she's had a wet bed ..... so we thought it was time to try the next step.   Two nights and two failures!   Ah well .... take a step back.

This morning she's having a long sleep in ..... she probably needs it after her first week of high school.

High school is going very well ..... Kaylia is coming home relaxed and happy ..... obviously happy with her day.   It's very good.

Today is Jade's birthday ....

 First day at high school!!

She was very excited on the way to school and very happy after school.   We have a very good feeling about this school.   Kaylia was clearly very happy to be there.

I think Kaylia had a good birthday .... during the day she often told me "Kaylia birthday" ..... for her this equates to "I'm enjoying my birthday."

She has 3 lots of bubble bath consumables ..... she's used one lot already!   She would have to be the cleanest child!

This morning I'm thinking of all you people who have spent time with Kaylia .... if we were to win lotto I think I'd arrange a gathering at a resort somewhere .... so you could all see her now .... and meet each other and share your memories.   I've just consulted the list ..... there are 26 of you!!

Later:  Hey Callum .... look at the melon plant in the little garden we made!  

And there's a watermelon in the corner too.

I've been given two huge pressure cylinders......

I have no idea what I'll make with them .... but they are very impressive.... rated at 650 psi..... very heavy ... about 200 kg each.  Maybe a soopa doopa spud zapper??

The mind boggles!

..... or maybe set in concrete  ... end on end .... and build a platform on top?
