#1596 Monday 10 July

Last night was bad..... she didn't settle ..... so at 9pm,  I went in to persuade her to sleep.   Then she woke again  at 12:30..... So down I go..... she wasn't going to sleep so I stayed down...... she eventually slept...... and at 5am I was woken by being weed on! Sheesh.   Change the sheets and make the bed.... Now it's 9am and she's still asleep.

#1595 Sunday 9 July

One of the interesting things about school these days...  compared with my experience.... is the manual arts.... the work that Kaylia brings home is really quite amazing.  The quality is superb.

This is the latest..... a wooden quoits set. It's neatly made with the parts fitting together well.  The lid has her name written in the plastic. 

All the parts pack away.  It seems far too well constructed for what I know of Kaylia's interest level and her manual dexterity.  I mentioned this to the teachers and I was assured that she did indeed make the item.  I'm intrigued.... How?  I would be proud to lay claim to this work.... how does the teacher do things so that Kaylia can produce this?   It's clearly a conundrum to be investigated in the future. 

#1594 Saturday 8 July

Another day off in Kayla's countdown to school.  I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who is so enthusiastic about school!

Evening : She's had a good day..... It gives us so much pleasure when she is happy.... despite the hard work of being constantly "there".  It is fairly clear that her mind is mostly revolving round "mummy" and when Naomi comes home, everything falls into place in her world.

#1593 Friday 7 July

It was therapy again this morning.... Now at 2:30 pm she is still excited.  I'm upstairs resting and she is doing her thing.... it's almost "ululation" .... her happy sound.  Mind you, the tone can quickly change from happiness to tenseness.... and then it's time to try medicine because it usually means that she is in pain from something.... and we usually don't know what.

I'm back doing the office accounts.... on an unpaid volunteer basis.... till we find a new business manager for the practice.

Naomi is celebrating today.... she's officially a "clinical psychologist registrar" .... finally after many years of study and heartache.

#1592 Wednesday 5 July

"Hello. I'm calling you from the Telstra technical department about your internet connection....."   Does that sound familiar?  I wish there was some way to stop these spam calls.  We have a few every day. Apparently they are illegal in the UK.... but our government can't be bothered.

Kaylia is off at Friendship Club today.... She will be home at tea time.

#1591 Tuesday 4 July

Kaylia had two hours of therapy this morning.... once again it was very good to listen in and hear the sort of things that she is capable of.  She knows many social mannerisms and interactions.... but we never see them in action  and so we don't expect them of her.  So she gets away with it.

#1590 Monday 3 July

Day 1 of the school holidays.... she had the afternoon at "Friendship Club" and arrived home about 6pm very happy with herself.  We sat on her bed and she obviously enjoyed "telling me" about her day.  They made some objects.... I'm not sure what they are though.

Tomorrow she will start the day with a morning of therapy.... and the she will probably spend a lot of time in the bath!
