It's 6:45am.... I can hear the taps running in the bath downstairs..... it's a new habit for Kaylia.... she just gets herself up and goes for a bath. I'll go down and give her some bubbles.

Life continues in "school next Wednesday... 4 weeks" mode.... she is so loopy on this that she now says the whole thing herself.... she doesn't wait for our response... she adds it herself.
The gap in blog posting has been due to a new medication that I'm trying.... it makes me very dopey.... (no stating the obvious there).... and I've been struggling to do much. No project work apart from a minor bit of lifting.
It's now 11am and Kaylia and I are waiting while Naomi visits op shops..... we've found a spot where there are 3 big shops side by side.... Naomi is excited.
5:30pm We experimented with a smoked meat BBQ tonight... the result was good and it's worth repeating. The smoker is a very simple affair from Bunnings. It's quite small but it cost ($15) so little that I bought two! An bag of wood chips cost $9 and this will last many cookings!
This evening we're interviewing a prospective aupair..... fingers crossed.

Then we drove back toward Perth along the back roads ..... through Wooroloo, Chidlow, Mt Helena and back to Mundaring. The roads are full of old memories for me.
In the afternoon, Naomi took Kaylia off for a "mummy drive" ..... doing the curcuit round the weir and back through Kalamunda.
When cooking tea tonight, Naomi was day-dreaming .... it was meant to be spaghetti bolognaise .... but she kept adding ingredients .... and before she realised, it became "Spaghetti Mexicana" instead! But we ate it from bowls ... so it became "Spaghetti Bowlanaise".
Kaylia is still focused on school .... counting the days till she can go back to her much loved school. I never cease to be thankful that she loves school so much.

This year will probably continue to be one of delight in our gorgeous Kaylia .... she is still looping on 'school on Wednesday' ..... and we respond by holding up 4 fingers .... "4 weeks" she says.
This morning we drove to York and back .... little traffic and a beaut time. Then it was 'flop time', story time ... and general pleasant time with her till tea time.
I began the day by getting up at 6am to work on the project .... A - because it is cool .... and B - because I can get some work done before the weariness and lassitude sets in ..... and C - because I can have some "play time" before Kaylia and Naomi get up.
This morning I was lifting the west end of the room and sliding a length of channel through to sit on the stumps. When this step has been completed for 4 of the beams, the rollers can be inserted so that the sideways move can begin.
