#2158 Sunday 15th January

The countdown is on at full steam..... 15 days to Kaylia's 19th birthday! She wants a story about it several times a day. ..... plus stories about the next trip to Busselton.....  and any other possibilities.  It's not quite at the nagging level yet..... she can control it when she is reminded.

We had a visit from a speech pathologist during the week. We're going to be getting a device for Kaylia that will allow her to make the device "speak" for her. It can learn new words so she can increase its vocabulary. 

#2157 Saturday 7th January

 Zoe flies home to Zurich today.  We've had a pleasant last day - op shops and Nandos!  Kaylia was given "special day" and she came home with 21 DVDs!

I've got "oral issues" - a molar tooth has fallen to bits and I have a sharp bit of tooth hitting the inside of my cheek.  I've booked a dental visit .... it's about 10 years since my last visit.....

Gee it was hot today!  Kaylia was off with her carer..... she always enjoys these days..... she gets drives and fun activities.

I was in the shed..... making a steel post to fit under the balcony.  Zoe came down to watch..... and photograph it all.

We're at Bilgoman pool for a swim before tea. After a long spell when Kaylia wasn't interested in swimming she has regained her delight in the water.

Today Kaylia has had a day out with her carer and I've been in the shed. I've been setting up the traditional Land rover bonnet mounted share wheel. After Zoe got home from her trip to the city we both took Bob for a little drive up and down rhe road..... Zoe is very impressed.

New Year wishes......

 Our year has had a sad start we fear.... our beautiful chooks are gone. They are always waiting for their evening feed.... and last night they couldn't be found. We fear that a dog or fox has taken them.

(Post script.... I've found two of the chooks. They were at a neighbours place.  They'd apparently been lonely while we were away and they went and joined the neighbour's chooks.)

It turns out that our chooks are accustomed to wandering around the neighbour's yards.

New Year's eve.....  Bye bye 2022.... Hello 2023!

Since all the op shops will be closed tomorrow, we went on a massive op shop crawl today..... we went to six op shops!  Naomi and Zoe came home with lots of clothes.  I think Zoe is going to have some excess baggage on her flight back to Zurich.
