#2194 Monday 19th June

The "big Co" chugs along ..... the worst effect is the persistent itchy throat.  It seems as though the various symptoms are each arriving separately .... I wonder if this is due to being fully vacinated?

Curve Style today .... Kaylia is at the post office sending the latest sales to the buyers.

Not much action on Bob at the moment.   On Wednesday I will take it down to have a new exhaust fitted.  The engineer says the noise level is too high.  Then it will be time for the next inspection.  If all is OK, I'll be able to have a normal registration check.  It will be great to have it road-legal at last ....  I have a list of places to explore when that time comes.

This image is someone's idea of a different thing that could be done with a Landrover! I don't see how the driver's seat can fit. It's similar to a forward control Landrover .....

Yikes.... I'm feeling really bad and tested positive for Covid!
First time I've ever had it.
Naomi has it too but Kaylia has missed it.

#2191 Tuesday 13th June

Today began with speech therapy.  The motivation for her is that she gets to blow up balloons!  The exercise this morning was the "shh" sound.  There are so many speech problems ... it feels as though a big stumbling point was when she had a couple of wisdom teeth removed a number of years ago ... and she resists opening her mouth.  It's not that she can't open her jaws .... she can open wide to take in a big mouthful of food ...... she resists opening for any other reason!

#2190 Tuesday 6th June

Wow ... it's been a wet couple of days!  When we left Hyden yesterday morning the sky was dark out to the west ..... and soon we were driving through the rain.  It rained fairly steadily all the way back to Perth.

It's great to see all the green paddocks and the freshly plowed paddocks.

Then we had a beaut storm last night.  As I write at 9am, there is hail falling on the roof!

#2189 Sunday 4th June

Since its a long weekend we've gone down to Hyden for an overnight stay. Kaylia was very keen to go to Wave Rock again so it was a good idea. However when we actually arrived at the rock, it was clear that her interest was just in seeing that the rock was still there!  No way was she going to get out of the car to climb the rock.

However we noticed a sign post to "The Humps" so off we went.  It was really worth the drive.

At the base of the rock is a cave called "Mulka's Cave" which has a gruesome legend associated.

Mulka's Cave is located within the vicinity of Wave Rock in Hyden Western Australia. The name Mulka comes from an Aboriginal legend associated with the cave. Mulka was the illegal son of woman who fell in love with a man with whom marriage was forbidden according to their law.

It is believed that a result of breaking these rules, she bore a son with crossed eyes. Even though he grew to be an outstandingly strong man of colossal height, his crossed eyes prevented him from aiming a spear accurately and becoming a successful hunter.

Out of frustration it is said Mulka turned to catching and eating human children and he became the terror of the district. He lived in Mulka's Cave, where the imprints of his hands can still be seen, much larger and higher than that of an ordinary man.

#2188 Wednesday 24th May

This evening we had a session with a person who helps plan the use of the NDIS funds allocated to Kaylia.  The session was very interesting due to Kaylia's behaviour. Normally she observes from a distance .... but this time she came and joined in the meeting .... and after a few minutes she went and found her iPad that she uses for music.  For the rest of the meeting she listened to the discussion and listened to music at the same time.  This is a new thing for her...... she's growing up.

I've just been looking back on the comments made on various blog posts .... and I realised that many of the comments are appearing as anonymous because the person commenting either doesn't sign the comment or doesn't log in to a Google account.  .... and I would really appreciate knowing who is talking!
