I had to venture out and go down to the big shopping centre in Midland and while walking around there i was struck by the number of elderly people sitting round or lying on the seats in the rest areas.... for people who don't have an air conditioned house, the shopping centre is a really good place to escape the heat.

#2261 Thursday 1st February
Phew it's hot! 43 degrees outside and it's even hotter down in Midland. I've stayed inside all day as the makes it too hard to do anything outside. Fortunately the measures we have put in place manage to combat the heat we'll. We have lots of insulation, we have heat blocking curtains over the windows.... and a number of air conditioners. Plus solar panels that produce nearly as much electricity as we use.

#2259 Monday 29th January
We're waiting for Lee to arrive for the Monday session of Curve Style..... she comes at 10am and starts by taking Kaylia for a drive.... the the morning is spent doing "shop" stuff. In the afternoon, Jenny comes to take Kaylia out for various activities such as movies, shopping, driving, bowling..... She comes home at 4pm.
Kaylia is excited about her birthday tomorrow. She won't be a teenager any more.... she'll be "grown up"!
On the Landrover front, progress is being made. The Department of Transport have said that they will approve the vehicle! Mind you, they haven't done this in writing yet.... so I'm not holding my breath.
My health has hit a new obstacle.... in addition to the trouble I have with my right wrist, the left wrist is now giving similar problems. A week ago, it felt as if it had dislocated.... severe pain with no cause or warning. After days of strapping it slowly came good but it feels as though it will collapse after any unusual twisting. So I now have both wrists strapped at all times. Ce la vie.

#2257 Saturday 20th January
Hahaha.!!
I just saw this.....
...... and I was immediately reminded of the times on the farm (40 years ago!) where I had the bulldozer covered in canvas..... and the goats loved it! It was a mountain they could climb..... and they'd slide down.

#2256 Tuesday 16th January
It's 2pm and we've just been through a humdinger of a thunderstorm ..... so loud that I think it might have been right over the top of us. The sky was clear though ..... so I don't think it could have been.
These days I get comments from Kaylia's carers about "What a delightful person she is." I agree! We seem to be in a 'sweet spot' with her medication and she's just relaxed and happy.
Later..... It turns out that it was a serious storm and localised just east of us. There are reports of flooding in Mundaring.
It's now 5 days later and many areas are still without power from the effect of that storm. Amazing stuff!

#2255 Sunday 14th January
Phew it's hoootttt! ..... and the forecast is that it's going to stay hot.
I'm having a battle with phones at the moment. The 3G network has been discontinued and I made sure that I have a 4G phone. But we weren't told that it had to be 4G voLTE..... not just 4G LTE. So I can't make or receive voice calls. It seems that the same handset can be either. In Australia, volte is programmed into the handsets... but not elsewhere. So a handset that costs around $100 in China costs around $1400 in Australia because it has a tiny program change. Sheesh!
