#914 Saturday 7 June

Today I'm "personing" the front desk at the Midland office .... the usual "persons" are not available so I'm "it".   After a month or so of being out of the office, I've been able to re-ignite my shed passion at home .... and I begrudge this time where I can't be doing "shed stuff".

Kaylia had her sights set on "swimming pool!" for today .... and I don't think that Kat really agreed with her.  I removed myself from the firing line .... so I will be interested to see how the day unfolded.

#913 Thursday 5 June

It's cupcake time!  Kaylia has had mixture from ear to ear .... what a sight.

She's very happy.  The change in medication seems to have corrected the behaviour issues at school.

Naomi and I are thinking about Kaylia's high school needs .... we're looking for a school with the best record of helping children with a disability.

#912 Tuesday 3 June

It's 5:30am .... she's slept ok but woken early.

Evening : She continued up and down till shower time ..... not much sleep for us!

Today when Alison arrived for therapy Kaylia ran out to greet her .... in a normal, excited voice .... they had a fairly normal conversation about Kaylia's day .... and I was remembering that not so long ago, Kaylia would never have done all that.  What a long way she has come!

#911 Monday 2 June

It's a long weekend and Kaylia has had a bonus dose of mummy. Yay!  As usual she spent a few hours under the hose.

I had a satisfying project time .... the balcony hoist is now functional.  I can lower things from the balcony down to the shed level 3 meters below .... and lift things up again!

#910 Sunday 1 June

Yay .... 1st of June .... We can light fires again!  There's going to be some big fires in the next week as we burn everything that is surplus and combustible.   Of course this feels wrong .... but the shire has made it so difficult to dispose of rubbish that we have little practical choice.

Mim was sick today so the routine was changed.   Naomi and Kaylia went to a movie instead.  Kaylia nearly lasted all the way through the movie.   She's getting better.

I had a laptop auction on EBay that finished today .... it sold for enough to pay for my new welder and a bench grinder.

#909 Saturday 31 May

Kat has gone south for the long weekend so I'm looking after Kaylia today.  We're at Bunnings .... Kaylia is in the playground .... she is still bothered by wa-wahs (loud babies) and she had to get out a short while ago.  After a break, the little kids had gone and Kaylia was back into it!

Of course I always like coming here .... to drool over the tools .... to compare prices .... to dream of projects.

2pm Home again .... after Bunnings we went to Whiteman Park .... we stopped in at the tractor museum ....

the tractor that Kaylia is sitting on is a 1953 Allis Chalmers model B .... a 20hp single plough tractor.  I had one of these from 1984 to 1994 .... I restored it and I used to display it at shows along with my other restored stationary engines.

After the museum, we went to the train and went for a ride ..... and another ..... and another!  She loved it.

We spent some time in an open wagon and she loved leaning over the end to watch the tracks as the train rolled along.

#908 Friday 30 May

It's 6:15am and Kaylia and I are both up ...... she's "dingling" and I'm sitting up .... I cough too much if I lie down.  Kaylia is in her room and each time I cough, I can hear her "coughing" too .... copying me!!
It's funny .... I haven't had a cold or flu for years .... but the last time I went to the doctor, she says "You need an anti-flu shot."  .... and now I have the flu!  I'm reminded of ..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
