#944 Friday 11 July

I guess that Kaylia will probably be wanting swimming again!   In the afternoon she has another "Friendship Club" session .... this time it's a games day.

Bed time ..... she's had a good day.  Swimming was good .... I can tell from the length of time at the pool. She's staying longer than usual.

Then this afternoon the games day was a great success.  As a result she's tired ... just as well as it's the full moon tomorrow so we can expect a disturbed night this evening.

#943 Thursday 10 July

Yesterday flew past!   Kaylia had a good time ..... in the morning it was swimming with Kerrie .... then after lunch we went for a walk in the quarry .... then she had a sleep .... then a hot bath before therapy with Alison .... which went really well as usual. She enjoys therapy so much.

After tea she made cookies with Kerrie.  It had been a good day and it took a long time for her to "wind down" for sleep.

Today .... swimming in the morning .... then after lunch it was mummy time and we went to the shops.

By bed time she was very tired .... but very happy.

#942 Tuesday 8 July

FKerrie (#18) arrived last night .... with a mate (Laura) who was flying home to UK.   This morning it was up at 1am to take Laura to the airport .... then home to our warm beds.  

The chocolate making session went well yesterday .... but as usual Kaylia wanted out because there were too many noisy kids. Not even the chocolate could overcome that.

Today?  This morning we visited Auty Maxine .... then Whiteman Park for train and tram.  Then shopping before heading home for bath time before therapy.  Therapy was excellent as usual.  Kaylia is really loving it and making really good progress.  We were commenting that not very long ago, her reward was a stim .... and now her reward is to play a game!!! What a change.

#941 Monday 7 July

Chris and Lara arrived and it was an evening of stories and sharing .... it was good.   We fed them up .... and tomorrow they head off again.  I had thought that we would have a few days with them but it's not so.   It will be good to see them again one day.

Today .... school holidays.  In the afternoon she has the first of four "activity days" with the 'Friends of Autism' .... the first session is chocolate making!  That's going to go down well.

#940 Sunday 6 July

This morning it's Aunty Moo's for morning tea .... then to Aunty Stana's for lunch.  Kaylia is so excited about this.  When Naomi was arranging it on the phone, Kaylia was listening and straight away she was doing her 'quiet repeat' thing that she does when she's really anticipating.

Chris and Lara arrive this afternoon .... the conclusion of their "drive round Australia".  They fly out to Germany on Thursday and they'll stay with us till then.  It will be a fitting end to this part of their time with us.  I'm sure that we will see them again.

#939 Saturday 5 July

It was a strange night .... after a 4am "wee run" I was wide awake and I decided to have some shed-time ..... and Kaylia decided to have some downstairs time too.  After about an hour it was clear the Kaylia wasn't going to settle .... I could hear her from the shed!   So I came inside and we had some snuggle time .... and she settled!  Great.  This is progress ....our plan is to get her to sleep in her own room and this is a good step in that direction.

11:30 at Bunnings.  After a 9am sleep in, Kaylia and I went for a walk round the block .... at her request.  ..... and she complained the whole way.  Once we got home, it was in the car and head for the Bunnings playground.

#938 Friday 4 July

Kaylia at "Signing Club" at school .... for a long time I thought they'd misspelt "Singing"!

We had the regular teacher meeting today .... Kaylia has a good report and is doing well in most things.  Her biggest problem is her lack of awareness of risk factors .. road safety, stranger danger etc.

We met aupair number 18 today.   Kerrie is from Devon UK and is a sports pysiologist.  She will start with us on Monday and stay till October.
