#2175 Monday 3rd April

This evening I was listening to the music coming from kaylia's room and it occurred to me that music is such a central part of her life..... what would our life be like without music.

#2173 Saturday 25th March

A variation on the routine.  Tomorrow I will take the Landrover to the Ascot race grounds to be an exhibit at the Classic Car Show.  This morning I've gathered up a food parcel and utensils for the day.  I'm hoping that I'll be able to sit nearby and I've got comfortable seating and sun shelter in case it's needed.

I plan to post updates to the blog during the day.

#2172 Thursday 23rd march

We lost another chook yesterday..... I went out in the morning and one of the new hens was dead..... there were no injuries so my guess is that it may have been a snake.  It's very unusual but I can't think of any other explanation.

Thursday is a "Curve Style" shop day.....

The car show is on this coming weekend...
This afternoon Kaylia and have had another good drive.... we ended up at the Church an Brook Dam.  Very pretty spot and a good place for a weekend drive.

#2171 Tuesday 14th March 2023

Long time no talk!  Things have been quiet.  Kaylia is fine .... just in her groove ... her routine.

The evening routine is like clockwork!  After tea she has the calendar marked to show the day over.  Then she heads for her room and gets ready for bed.  Soon after she calls for Naomi to come and lay out the clothes she will wear the next day.  Then she has time with Youtube on her tablet.  She's very good at searching the "history" to find her favourite videos.  At around 6.30pm she calls for me to come and do "Blue Blanket" .... this is her name for a routine where I flick the sheet and blanket to cover her up.  Then at 7pm she calls again and it's time for me to give her evening medications, "Blue Blanket" again (this is when I flick the sheet and blankets - 1,2,3) ... and then a sort of story time  where we talk about the trips that are to happen in the year.  Busselton in April .... Metricup in July....  Albany in October.   (As each trip goes by, the next trip is added to the routine.)  I try to get her to tell these to practise her speech.

Then she usually chooses for the tablet to go away and she settles to sleep.

Bob .... I've made another hidden storage box ... this time under the floor on the driver's side.  A big event is coming up  .... the 75th Classic Car Show .  This will be at the Ascot Raceway.

Bob will be one of about 100 Landrovers of all types on display.  (we have instructions NOT to wash the vehicles!  LOL)

Of course Landrovers will just be one of many different types of classics there.

I'm going to have a comfy chair or two, an umbrella,  the makings of a shelter  (if one is possible).  Plus I'll have the fridge stocked with tucker  and drinks. I don't know what will be possible on the day so I'll go equipped to have a barbie (just in case!)

It should be a memorable day.

#2170 Thursday 2nd March

Bob progress..... Not much I spose. Still no engineer certificate..... but I've made a sun visor.
I've been fixing up the Engel fridge.... Its nearly 50 years old and still going perfectly.
I've stripped it down and repainted it. It will be good for many years to come.

#2169 Monday 27th February

On Friday I was able to visit Kaylia's workplace at the "Save the Children" op shop in Malaga.  She was clearly very happy there. Her work involves sorting the pieces of jigsaw puzzles and counting them into small lots.

In the past 2 weeks we have bought 2 new hens to replace the ones that have been lost.  The new hens are still confined to the coop until they are thoroughly adopting their new home.
