Woo oo oooh ..... wot a nite! She didn't go to sleep till 10pm and then she woke at 3am and she was wide awake! She went downstairs to play and was playing noisily till 6:30am when she came upstairs again. She was playing right outside Zoe's door ... but Zoe slept right through it!! (Amazing) Naomi and I both feel like death warmed up ..... I think Kaylia will probably crash at some point today.
.
Yesterday's therapy was good ..... the way that Kaylia plays is changing. She seems to be looking for social contact more .... and she wants to play with a variety of toys rather than stimming off just one toy. It's a continuation of the changes that we noticed while we were in Bali. We're not sure what it means yet .... but it seems to be heading in the right direction.
.
There was an interesting email yesterday from a researcher at the Telethon Institute .... they have reviewed a range of complimentary and alternative therapies which are aimed at autism ... assessing the research basis, method, results etc. It was significant that very few actually have a good result .... about half of the therapies have no benefit but do no harm ...... and a number of therapies have no benefit and are classed as unsafe. It seems to me that the supporters of the therapies are chasing 'feel good' therapies.
