#420 Saturday 5 November

Bang! Crash! ..... Dingle dangles everywhere!

Remember I said that Kaylia's recent review talked about her approaching a point where her development will explode? I think we may be seeing the start of this. Daily we see her understanding situations and making comments that show reasoning and inferences. It's really good. The anxiety attacks are still a battle but good progress is going on.

Finances are a big stress factor at present. The business is going well but we need money for Bali now and banks will only use history as a basis for lending .... they give no value to current results. So although things will be good in the near future, this doesn't help us now!

#419 Friday 4 November

Another week gone! Little to report on the Kaylee front. This is very good in one way ... no traumas or catastrophes! (... and we have kept her away from paint and glue :-)

Next Thursday, Naomi goes to Bali for a 3 day break. ... and the following week it will be my turn ... then a month later we go up for the Christmas break. Kaylia, Kat and I are going up early and Naomi will follow when she finishes work. This will be an experiment to see if we can get Kaylia over the transition blues before Naomi gets there ... so she doesn't have to deal with it. It also means that Naomi will get a few nights of undisturbed sleep at home before going to Bali.

I don't think I have introduced Sanggar to you'all before? Sanggar started spending time with us in the office earlier this year. She has been doing an 'internship' where I give her practical business experience as she finishes her accounting degree. She is proving to be a great asset to us in the villa business as well as in our main business. The Bali business needs an Indonesian nominee and ... since she hails from Surabaya in Indonesia .... Sanggar has officially joined us in that role as well as joining the crew in the Child Wellbeing Centre as accountant. (welcome!) Sanggar will be part of our team for a long time!
Sanggar is going to spend the December break in Bali with us too. She and I will set up a mini CWBC office in the villa as there will still be quite a bit of work to be done over that period.

Next day: it was busy ... I didn't get any time for writing .... but it was Ok

#417 Tuesday 1 November

A wonderful thing happened this morning ... my phone rang .. and it was Zoe! We had a good talk and resolved to talk again by Skype soon. Discussing Kaylia with Zoe reminded me how much Kaylia has improved this year.

And then this afternoon it was time for another review session with Darin (who guides her therapy program) .... and I was reminded again of how far Kaylia has come since starting therapy. Darin recounted the types of therapy exercise Kaylia was doing a couple of years ago ... and contrasting them to the exercises that Kaylia is succeeding with now .... what a huge improvement! Kaylia is only a couple of years behind in her development and she is likely to catch up fast over the next year.
It makes it worthwhile. We're still coping and even though it's hard to realise, things are improving.

We just have to last a bit longer.

Tonight was our "night out" .... a couple of hours at a coffee shop. And then home to find that she's squeezed out all the toothpaste!

#416 Monday 31 October

There are times when I don't like my daughter. Tonight she's been a right brat ... and Naomi copped a flayling arm in the face. I really don't want to be part of Kaylia's bedtime routine tonight but if I don't, then I have go and work on correcting Zoe's latest essay .... I think I'll do the bedtime routine!

#415 Sunday 30 October

Sleep in day .... so good!  ... and Kaylia cooperates well .  This morning she went downstairs to play the came back to bed for cuddle-time.

Kat discovered yesterday that Kaylia's fascination with dingle-dangles is becoming a routine instead .... when they went to the Red Dot store to buy another rubber snake,  the new snake was quickly thrown away!  The routine of buying has become more important than the actual object.  Yikes ... a shop-a-holic!

The process of blogging is interesting .... when I look at the statistics, there are many views from unknown sources ... not followers .... I suppose there must be lots of people who enjoy 'surfing' blogs.
(I've just returned from having a closer look at the 'lookees'  .... not so interesting after all .... the top one was Anni [hi Anni!] who I find had a blog in German at the time she was staying with us before going to Qld to study!  Interesting reading!)

Kaylia has gone swimming with Naomi ... this is a Sunday routine .... "I must go swimming!"

Evening:
Madness while we try to see the light at the end of the tunnel.   It's been a B....!! of an afternoon.  Kaylia has cried and screamed since mid afternoon.  We're both so down about it all.  I don't think people would believe us if we said what goes on in our house.
