#1206 Saturday 15 August

The "funny" thing about last nights episode was that Kaylia just saw it as a reason to have a bandage!  She held up her foot and said "band-aid" ..... no crying or other sign of shock or pain ..... no reaction that you'd expect ...... just a request for a band-aid!!

We will have to take her to the doctor today for a tetanus booster.   She'll love that.

Later:  the visit to the doctor went well.
Now (11:30am) she's off at a playground with Hannah while Callum is working on the steps on the side path.  I'm supervising today. ..... still quite flu-ey and weak .... so I sit on a chair and watch the levels as Callum lays the bricks.
He's laying without mortar to work it all out .... the he'll mix mortar to get the final levels.

#1205 Friday 14 August

A big "Thankyou" to all the people who have sent birthday messages to me!  The song from the Beatles can now be used "When I get older ... losing my hair........... When I'm sixty foouuurr!!!"

...... and an ice cream cake was perfect.

Later:
We now have a disturbing decision to make ..... Teddy's future.  This evening Kaylia was on the bed and put her foot down to get up ..... and stepped on Teddy who was lying on the floor.  Completely accidental .... it's happened to me many times.  But this time Teddy bit her!  It was bad enough to cause bleeding and some bad bruising.  So now we have consider what to do.  It was quite a bad bite on her foot .... do we tolerate it?  Or is it unacceptable?
We're not happy tonight.

#1204 Tuesday 11 August

Tuesday's are therapy days!   Kaylia loves therapy.  The challenge is to get her to speak in a sentence about therapy .... she quite likes to do this but she has to be reminded to say more.

I've had a little success today .... I've built another attachment for the tractor.
It's a frame to carry concrete slabs ..... as weight.  The tractor is too front-heavy and extra weight on the back balances it and makes it much more stable.   Each slab is 40kg .... so that's about 400kg of weight.

#1203 Sunday 9 August

We're still sick.  I'm not too bad but Naomi and Kaylia are both not well.   It's just a coughie sort of flu but it's hanging on like a bad smell!

I had the weirdest experience last night at  around midnight ..... I was in the middle of a vivid dream about fighting aliens and somehow managed to flip myself out of bed in a 270 degree horizontal roll.  I landed on the floor after hitting my head on the bedside table ..... and then promptly cramped my leg up!  Very strange!
