This is an example of the good nature of the people who live with us to help Kaylia ......

Yesterday while repairing Kaylia's bed, I tipped over  the box of screws.  This doesn't sound like much .....but the box has 11 compartment for different sizes of screws and has well over 1,000 screws!!  It made for a really bad day and I made a despondent comment when I came inside.

While I was working on the bed I saw that (without being asked) Hannah and Callum had gone down to the shed, gathered up all the screws and were then sorting them into the sizes and refilling the box.  Those two are gems!

#1188 Friday 17 July

It's a 'big day' today ..... we're moving Kaylia back to her room!  A few years ago we put an extra bed next to ours in desperation...... to allow us to sleep! Now we think it's time for a trial of 'normality'.

Part of this task was to repair Kaylia 's bed ...... her bouncing had broken the base. While gathering the timbers for this job I found a mystery box .... and it contained a 140 year old manual cash register!  

It's something we "gathered" 50 years ago.   I'll put it on eBay and gumtree and see if there's any interest.

The spa installation is progressing ...... the main supports are in place and I'll build the next level of supports on top. Kaylia comes out to check on progress from time to time...... she wants water in it NOW!!

Today she had "Friendship Club" again ..... and loved it!   We went for a drive after tea and I asked her if she had enjoyed it.  She looked at me intently and said "Yeah please" in a very excited voice.  It's good.

#1186 Tuesday 14 July

She's had the first session of her new therapy program today.  She was so excited!  .... but then near the end she dissolved in tears from the pain of her finger.   She has started peeling her fingernails .... not biting ..... but she has still managed to tear half a nail off and it's clearly very painful.   We'll now start a war on this before it becomes too entrenched.  She does it under the blankets at night ..... and I fall asleep before she does!

She's so cheerful that she's wearing us down!  She's very cheerful and she screeches at the top of her voice!  Our ears hurt.
