Oops .... we've reached the stage of having to watch our language! Naomi had a SNAFU and said "Oh s....". and then we heard Kaylia say "Oh ship"! This is one time where the poor articulation is a plus.
Then Kaylia was reading a picture book ..... "What's this?" "Car" etc etc
She comes to an unusual one and Naomi says to herself "This one is tricky .... Kaylia, what's this?". Kaylia says "tricky"!

Well ..... the Subaru has been written off. Amazing! It's a good outcome as we can get another car much sooner than waiting for repairs.
Today: .... into the CBD for some work .... then find a car!

The replacement car has been chosen .... a white one ... it will keep the same color names for the cars so Kaylia can cope (just joking :-/. )

I found a recording on my phone yesterday ... made in November 2011 - 4 months ago .... of a verbal interaction between Kaylia and Kat. The difference between Kaylia's speech then and now is amazing! She is developing very quickly.
Two weeks till we go to Bali again. Naomi really needs the rest. The study load at uni has really been hard on her this past term.

Happy birthday Maxine!
The weekend was good .... Kaylia was good company and well behaved. We had lots of swimming and lots of car trips ... so she was happy! While driving we usually have her music playing and she is getting even better at singing along Yesterday she was saying something ... it sounded like 'beach' but we weren't going there .... then we realised she was saying 'beep, beep' and she wanted the previous song repeated! ("horn goes beep, beep") In general we are noticing a real improvement in her speech .... largely because she has realised that she can negotiate for things that she wants. She is trying hard to say the words correctly. She listens to the sounds and tries hard to get it right.
We had a midday family birthday on Sunday. The last time we had one was August last year and we had to bail out after about 10 minutes because she had a bad melt-down. Yesterday? She was great and we were able to stay for 2 hours! What a difference the new medication system makes.
