#1248 Saturday 24 October

It's been a high excitement morning!  The first day of the summer season of Bilgoman Pool!   Kaylia has been counting the days till today.

This afternoon .... after swimming ..... Kaylia went with me to collect a trailer load of decking timber .... another freebie ..... more than enough for the deck round the spa.

#1247 Friday 23 October

With the sun rising earlier, so does Kaylia!  Her normal get up is 6am now ..... she comes up and has an hour of cuddle time before the day starts.

We are working on her independent living skills now ..... trying to be aware of the little things that we do for her .... like putting soap on the sponge .... and teaching her to do these things for herself.   This morning I was emptying the dishwasher ..... Kaylia's task is to put away the cutlery .... I noticed that she has developed a method for this. I'm not sure if anyone has taught her .... but it's good.

We've just had a courier delivery at the front door ..... so I had to climb all the stairs to answer the door ..... this house enforces exercise for me!

It sounds really cute .... even though I don't think that she knows what she's saying.

Last night it was the "Guess the title of the song" game!  She had us all puzzled .... and it turned out to be something simple.

Freebies are great!  This afternoon I have scored a couple of freebies that will give me enough steel and timber to complete the roof frame re-construction I have planned for above the spa area.

It's been a tree falling day ..... two dead trees have been cut down and they will give us firewood for the next few years.

Happy birthday Naomi!  It's mummy's birthday and yesterday Kaylia and I went shopping for presents and cards.  I spent a long time helping her to understand what we were doing .... trying to get her to choose the gift and card. ...... so this morning Kaylia remembered!  She came upstairs at the right time and immediately wanted to give the birthday presents.  She's such a good girl.

Speaking of that ..... we often praise her .... to develop a positive self image.   ...... and it's really true .,.. she is such a well behaved, good child.  She's a pleasure to have around .... (small letters) most of the time.

Evening:  Naomi's had a good day ..... a good birthday.  We finished tea with her signature cheesecake .... the white chocolate one..... Yuuummmmeeeee!!!!

During the afternoon we met another prospective au pair..... Camille from France. We all hit it off so hopefully we might have a match.
