#2055 Saturday 29th January

It's Kaylia's birthday tomorrow...... and she makes sure that we can't forget!   We will probably be woken early but she has instructions that presents will NOT be given before 9am.

We're having a birthday lunch at Hogs Breath.... and she will probably still expect the usual op shop trip after lunch. 

Naomi has made a pink marshmallow birthday cake.  Since Kaylia will be 18, it's a very significant event.  We have a number of things to arrange to cope with her adult status. 

One good bit of news is that the work experience business where she has worked one day a week last year.... has asked for her to do two days a week this year.

 Today is Australia Day .... or Amnesia Day ..... or Invasion Day

My feelings on this subject have long been that we should acknowledge the true custodians of our land .... and that we should have a formal treaty with those people.  I put a copy of one of my poems onto Facebook .... and it has really raised some debate. 

 I guess this  debate is good as it is a subject deserving of debate ... and deserving of action.

#2053 Sunday 23rd January

It's still b....... hot!  Over 42deg here.  The plus side is that we have 6 airconditioners running and the solar panels are producing 99.3% of the electricity being used.  During 2020 we put in a heap of extra insulation in the ceiling and it means that the house is very comfortable despite the heat outside.

Kaylia's ramping up her campaigning for her birthday next week end.
