Pinch and a punch .....  

Kaylia is doing so well at present .... it's a joy to behold.  She is very alert, attentive .... she tries really hard when we are teaching something.   The current "project" is to get her to say SCHool instead of gool.   We're nearly there.

Evening

She was very pleased with herself when came home from school today .... she had been very good and got 46 points!  Her reward was a pencil and a flower- shaped eraser.  

She was clearly proud of herself .... it's very good.

She's funny in the morning ... after she has finished breakfast and packed her school bag and put her shoes on, she decides that it's time to go to school ... so she rounds up Naomi and I and takes us upstairs for the next step .... we then have to wait there till Lara is ready to go .... and it's "Come on Lara!"

#830 Tuesday 25 February

The therapy program is now spending more time on correct speech forms plus learning to analyse context to work out an unstated meaning. This is really good ... the work is interesting for her and challenging.  She tries hard and you can see that she enjoys it.

She especially likes the play sessions ... these are teaching imagination at the same time as teaching common speech forms .... such as saying "Have a nice day." as a person leaves.

Bloggable moment .... when I came downstairs for breakfast, there was a fluttering at the window.  I went to look and there was a moth flying round the inside of the glass .... and on the outside there was a Butcher bird trying to get the moth!




Over the past two days, Naomi has been going mad looking for a bag of laundry from the Midland office.  We've searched high and low ... inside and out .... to no avail.  Then we mentioned to Chris what we were looking for .... he goes out to the "bungalow" and  .. hey presto! There's the bag of laundry!  In the past it was always the plastic laundry baskets that migrated to the bungalow .... now it's the laundry as well!

School and therapy today.  It's going to be good to see the changes in therapy.

My fault .... the alarm went off and I woke to turn it off .... then went straight back to sleep.  She wet the bed about an hour later.  After waking at 3am to change the bedding it took a long time to settle her and get her back to sleep ... so the Sunday morning sleep in will be very welcome.

Chris and Lara headed of at 4:30am to drive to Jurien to go sky diving .... it's something I always wanted to do.

Later .... The routine was really in control today .... Kaylia was clearly tired but she had to do follow the routine!  Each stop was shortened but it had to be. As she grows we will be able to talk about this and see if the routine can be varied at times.  

Chris and Lara are back from their adventure .... suitably elated by the experience.  No photos though .... they had to pay an extra $150 to be allowed to take a photo!
