#387 Saturday 1 October

The home phone rang a short while ago .... the first time it has rung in weeks ... "This is XYZ Investment company ....".

Kaylia has been exploring the backyard .... "balls .... balls.... ". I thought she was looking for balls ... but she finally told me that that spot she had found would be good for a ball-pit!!! Howzatt?

I'm patting myself on the back .... usually tax / BAS time is a big worry ... but this time it is all completed on the first day of the month! It will mean that it will not be a worry for me while we're in Bali next week.

#386 Thursday 29 September

Today we get to work from home .... it's like a mid-week holiday .... almost.

Kaylia is turning into a determined negotiator .... she has a mental list of desired objectives and she goes down the list to see which one she can get. This is much better than her old way of 'nagging' for only one. That was probably more a symptom of the anxiety where the negotiating is a more healthy habit.

Evening:
Sheesh! What a bad day. First we find that termites have attacked the front office .... then there's a huge bill for repairs to Naomi's teeth! $1,400 for termites and $1,700 for the teeth.

Kaylee and I went to the HJ playground tonight .... and there was a quenda there!

Later:
There were two more bottles of paint that missed the search the other night .... but she found them tonight!!! Another night of cleaning the disaster area.

.... and then ..... and THEN ... while in the shower washing the paint off her .... I went out to clean the floor ... and she emptied all the shampoo bottles! GRRRH!!!

#385 Wednesday 28 September

Another certificate!

What a trooper! You probably can't read the words ..... the certificate is for good playground behaviour.

Kaylia's latest weigh-in shows that in the past 6 weeks she has actually lost a small amount .... this is a good result.

Tonight she's cheerful and happy .... we're very lucky to have such a wonderful child!

#384 Tuesday 27 September

The countdown to Bali continues! Kaylia is right into it .... she listens to our conversation all the time .... and when a word occurs (that fits her desires) she latches onto it ..... and we hear a voice! "pool" .... "plane" .... "villa" .... etc

Tonight we were at Nandos for tea ... We were discussing transport in Bali .... and Kaylee pipes up ... "Barwee!"

#383 Monday 26 September

Kaylee is a real J-Lo fan .... at bedtime she watches different versions of "On the floor" .... She likes "So You Think You Can Dance" .... as she gets older I won't be surprised if she gets seriously into dancing. She sings all the time .... quite well too!

Now let's see .... what's on for today? School for Kaylia .... therapy after school from 3:30 to 5:30 ... then shops, home, tea and bed.

Later: No therapy ... Kane had "the bug"! So it was shopping ..... Kaylia is developing a very strong personality and shopping is a big factor. Now I wonder where that comes from? :-)

#382 Sunday 25 September

1:44 am .... she wet the bed a couple of hours ago and hasn't settled since. I've banished her downstairs to her own room and I'm guarding access upstairs ..... mainly to let Naomi have a bit of sleep but also to see if we can begin retraining her to sleep in her own bed. Even if successful this would have downsides as it would mean going downstairs to take her to the loo in the middle of the night.

Kangawooz in the backyard yesterday. There are several roos which frequent our yard ... let me introduce 'Big Balls Bob' (no prizes for guessing).

Of course, I'm thoroughly awake now. This will mean that today I will be very tired during the day. After being worn out yesterday, I was asleep by 6:30pm ... this sleep pattern is not good. I need to nap in the afternoon but life is too busy now to allow this.

Evening: A good day ... sleep-in followed by swimming ... then shops ...
After this Naomi Kaylee and Kat went exploring the Swan Valley (and the Chocolate Factory) while I checked over the Kanga. I've put it up for sale .... A sign of the times.
