#694 Saturday 28 September

Talk about "Children of the Age of Technology"!  We're driving in the car ... she has my phone listening to Taylor Swift ..... Bing! ... email in .... before I even look down she's opened the email and has the keyboard up ready to write a reply!   I don't really think that she knew what to say .... but she certainly knew how to navigate the iphone!

Now we're at Bunnings playground.  There are 3 other children .... similar age .... she is showing interest but doesn't really know how to join in their play.

Then on to Whiteman Park ....

After a good week we decided to have a little celebration and go out for tea .... Kaylia had the choice between pizza and Sizzlers.  It was a strong vote for Sizzlers.

When we got there, she was very exited! All through the meal she was very excited!  At the end if the meal she was very excited!

I think she liked it.

#692 Thursday 26 September

Kaylia was excited about her day at school.  The drumming group .... you saw the video of the assembly .... the group had an end-of-term party today. From her reaction it must have been good!

End of term means two weeks of full time  Kaylee!  It's hard work.

On a different topic .... you may recall me telling you of my new tactic to handle calls from India (.... Give me your credit card details and I'll talk to you ....) well ... it may actually be working!  We have noticed that the volume of the calls seems to have dropped right off.  It might be a coincidence ... but the maybe it's not!

#691 Wednesday 25 September

It's been a good night.  Last night was a celebration .... a certain hoped for thing finally occurred.   So Kaylia and I went and celebrated .... a blue bubblegum McFlurry at Macca's!  

Arriving home it was shower time ..... but then she began asking for "ice cream .... "    At first I was a bit annoyed .... she'd already had lots of ice cream .... then it dawned on me that she was trying to be funny! "Are you making a joke Kaylee? .... Yes". WOW!!!!

I checked the idea by joking some more about having an ice cream "this big" (making huge hand movements) ..... and she thought it hilarious and laughed her head off.   What an amazing development!   We now have to keep in mind that she might be making a joke when she is talking!  Given that it is still hard to actually understand her speech, this adds a new level of complexity!

#690 Tuesday 24 September

It was school assembly this morning .... Naomi and I went along.  Her class was doing an item that involved drumming and hand clapping .... Kaylia didn't really get the drumming bit .... but she was right into the hand motions and clapping.  It was a lot like some of the therapy exercises so I can understand her enthusiasm.

#689 Monday 23 September

Yyuurrgghh! It's all wet!   2 minutes before the alarm and she let it all out.   ..... and then ..... right in the middle of the panic as we tried to get Kaylia out of bed .... I was hit by a bad cramp in the back of the thigh!

......   It was bad!   

Did I tell you that it was bad??  It was very bad.  It's all over now but I don't think I'll sleep for a while.

Evening

I did sleep eventually ... but once again I was thankful for the iphone ... it certainly is a sanity saver at times.

Kaylia had a good day as usual .... despite being a bit snotty.  We've just got home from Nandos ... Naomi was able to eat with us for the first time in ages.  It was good .... I watched Kaylia's reactions .... she just sat there with her eyes glued on mummy the whole time.

I hope we have a dry bed tonight!

Today we have been at Aunty Moo's most of the day! Kaylia has loved it ..... lots of baths, icecreams, movies ..... and Aunty Moo as well!

We got home at 5pm and she's nearly ready for bed.
