#1984 Friday 8th November

What about Kaylia? ....(I hear you ask!).......

She is going really well.... she's now 2 months away from being 16 .... and in some ways she is becoming a typical teenager!  She is having periods of being moody .... and grumpy.... just what you expect at her age.  At other times she is still the same delightful girl we are accustomed to.

She now has a DVD player with a 15" screen beside her bed ..... and she loves it.  When we do our weekend "Op Shop" visits, she collects DVDs!  She has a huge collection now and it has become part of her routines that she asks us to help her choose the DVD that she will watch .... then we help her get it playing.  She's is quite able to do it all herself .... but she likes the company.  Sometimes she wants us to stay with  her  .... Naomi does her wonderful stories ..... and I must give Kaylia some "tickle time" ...... tickle ears..... tickle knees .... and so on.

The weekend routines are still the same ..... Saturday afternoon shopping and op shops ..... then Sunday morning drive to somewhere .... usually Fremantle or Bindoon.  Then its an afternoon relax.

Her health is generally excellent.  In August she had another visit to hospital to have some wisdom teeth removed.

She still must be reminded to drink and if she is low on water, she gets headaches and "stinky times".

#1983 Monday 4 November 2019

Well .... it's been a long while between posts!  Please accept my apologies.
There have been several reasons for this ..... all of the reasons are due to me.

Firstly I was getting so wrapped up in my poetry (Loopy Musings) that it was hard to keep both blogs going.
Secondly .... and more importantly .... I hit a big "roadblock" in my health.  I spent most of August in hospital with a mental breakdown caused by the stresses of claiming under the National Redress scheme ..... then it was found that I had a large mass in my left kidney ...... plus I have a very enlarged thyroid gland.
The kidney was found to be benign (phew!) but the thyroid has to be removed .... only the left half.
The enlarged thyroid is pressing on my trachea and on the carotid artery.  This may well explain the extreme tiredness I have been fighting..... if so I should feel much better once the pressure is removed.
At the same time I have been having in depth testing of heart function to make sure that this is not a cause of the tiredness.  All the heart tests were AOK.
