#1334 Saturday 3 September

Ah well .... It was a good experiment.  I bought the new chainsaw to test whether the EZStart system would enable me to start a petrol saw .... My fused wrist means that I can't start a normal saw ... and this saw has a new starter system that may have made it possible.   But alas .... I still can't start it.  So I'll sell it again .... One Day old and never been run.

Kaylia was late to sleep last night ..... she was still hyper at 1am.  So this morning was a long sleep in.
7pm. We're relaxing on Kaylia's bed .... she's droning away ..... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ..... and every now and then she pops out a significant word ..... Macdonalds or some such! She clearly likes these times.

#1333 Friday 2 September

Sitting on the bed with Kaylia after school.   she's stimming on YouTube while I play with my new toy.....
Its a freebie thanks to Optus!  I sold the "smartwatch" that came with my phone.  I got enough on eBay to buy a new chainsaw.   I'm looking forward to cutting some firewood with it.

Klara and Rebeka have gone to pick up the car they have bought for their travels.  Its a Magna!
They leave in a week's time.  We haven't found a replacement yet so I will have some school trips with Kaylia again.

#1332 Thursday 1 September

Its good to have Naomi home.  Kaylia was very happy.  She does a strange thing with her eyes when she is really happy ...  she sort of opens the eyelids right up so the whole iris is visible ..... she only does it then .... she doesn't say anything.

Speech status:  this morning she wasn't hungry and she wanted to put her toast out for the birds ..... it came out sounding like "oos do the irs ...."  She still has a long way to go.

On the subject of being hungry ..... The change to Seroquel has been good.  Her appetite is much less and over time this should make a positive change in her health.

Kaylia seems to be over the wog .... she's still got a cough .... but since she likes to stim off the cough, its hard to say whether the cough is real or not.   Me?  I'm still crook!  The wog saps my energy most of the time and mid afternoon each day it creeps up and wacks me over head with  a bout of painful stuffy head.

No likely candidates for a new aupair yet.   We will probably have a while on our own again till we find another good match.

#1331 Tuesday 30 August

I think it's been a good day .... Kaylia has been cheerful with no sign of sches or pains.   Still no word about her back brace though.

She has changed routine a bit though .... she's wanting to go to bed earlier and she's going straight to sleep without any iPhone time.  She needs it .... and I need it too!

Naomi comes home tomorrow .... Yay!

#1330 Monday 29 August

Oooo this wog is not nice! This afternoon I 'hit the wall' and had a sleep ...... and woke up much worse.  I'm feeling terrible. Kaylia doesn't seem too bad but she has no appetite.  That's not really a bad thing though.

I've put forward bedtime and at 6:15pm  we're both snuggled up with blankets, medicine and tissues!  ...... and phones!

#1329 Sunday 28 August

I've just had an email from a close friend from long ago ..... commenting on yesterday's blog.   This is one of the many benefits of keeping a blog ..... that we can stay in touch with people without "clogging the pipes".  There's no way that we can correspond with so many people at once ..... but the modified communication is very satisfying and functional.

BTW .... Marg was commenting on the Darlington internet speed .... in comparison with our 10-12 Mb/s, she (in Qld) gets 0.3!!!   The Guy in LA getting 354 must be a real exception in the US.  He's possibly in the fabled Google fibre network ..... you know .... like Australia was going to have .... till the Liberals cancelled it.
I've just found a world comparison and it shows the US as being 15th at 11.9.  This is probably an average ..... its another example of using statistics to suit your own viewpoint.
Today?   K & I are still in bed at 10am.  We're both still sick with the wog ..... and there's no one else around ..... so it's a good idea.   We would normally be going to visit Maxine but that's not acceptable when we are infectious.   So I'm not sure what we will do ..... maybe a drive to Fremantle?   We will see.

It ended up being a drive to Fremantle and back.

Many of you will remember the birds feeding outside .... I've just put out some pasta and the 28s are going mad.  As usual, one is trying to stop all the others from getting a bite.  There's plenty for all but no ... they have to fight.  There's about 6 or so flying round.

Our current au-pairs have decided to depart early so that they can travel round the 'top end' before the hot weather hits.  So we're on the hunt again!
