#1133 Saturday 11 April

It's pouring with rain outside ..... and Kaylia is sitting in her outside bath!

After this amazing effort we went in to the hospital to visit Naomi ..... then to another hospital to visit Colin ..... then to visit Maxine ..... then to the shops to find balloons!

While driving from Maylands to Joondalup, Kaylia correctly realized that we would drive past IKEA ..... and it took some explaining to get her to accept that we weren't going there!   Her sense of geographical location is amazing.

Later: it occurred to me later that her "location sense" is probably not unusual for a child of her chronological age ..... for her developmental age it's very good.  We get so used to considering her as a 6 or 8 year old rather than an 11 year old.

#1132 Friday 10 April

Still no Naomi.   She has a staph infection and we have to wait till it is fixed.... but she doesn't feel too unwell and she's bored!

Kaylia had a good day ..... H+C took her to Bayswater Waves pool and .... after a long session ..... she was about to leave when one of her classmates arrived. ..... so she was in for another session!   This is quite significant as it shows that she is valuing social contact.  It's not so long ago that a friend arriving would have meant nothing to her.

#1131 Thursday 9 April

Kaylia slept very well last night ..... too well!   She flooded the bed this morning.

Evening : Now I'm crook too!  I've got a bad ear ache and a temp of 38 earlier.   I'm trying to arrange a doctor asap.... I don't feel well at all.

#1130 Wednesday 8 April

Busy .... Busy!!  Yesterday we began operating our additional office in Midland .... there are lots of little details to be done but it looks good and staff are pleased.

Today Naomi has had to go to hospital .... she has a large, painful abcess that will require IV antibiotics and maybe surgery. It sounds as if she's going to be out of action for a few days.

Kaylia had a "Friendship Club" activity today but it wasn't really suited to her so she had to be removed.  She really loved it last year and I think she was very disappointed that it wasn't the same one.

#1129 Monday 6 April

Today's Callum's 22nd birthday and after another pleasant drive we arrived at York again.  The playground was kaylia's target and she took command of us!

The it was off to home ..... and Naomi cooked up 3 magnificent pizzas .... One was a chocolate pizza!

What a great way to celebrate the birthday!

#1128 Sunday 5 April

The drive from Darlington to Wave Rock was perfect as usual ..... she's an amazing traveller in the car .... so different to the plane.   In the car she's content to look at the world going past and to sing a long with the music.  She's never upset .... such pleasant company.  We stopped in York for lunch at our favourite bakery .... then on the road again.   We arrived about 3pm and she was soon off to the "salty pool". This time something changed and she didn't want to get into the water.  After much persuasion she finally got in .... and was very quickly out again.  This is very odd for Kaylia and we still don't understand.

Afterward she was very happy to be in the cottage again ..... content to just be there.
