#897 Saturday 27 April

She slept!

... but we found out last night that she has learned to be sneaky. After tea she always wants to keep eating (thanks to the Risperdal) and we usually say the the kitchen is closed at 7pm. Last night she went downstairs and helped herself to fruit! We'll have to devise a strategy for this. We don't want to go down the road of locking up the food storage places.

Afternoon
Kaylia and Brynn have gone to the city on the train today ... for a long session in the Forrest Place fountains. These are such a brilliant idea .... applause for the designer and builders.
Kaylia and I have had a good session on the harmonica .... I have a full set plus some spares so we can both have one in "C" and she can copy me. So far she has grasped the blow/suck concept and I'm working on a simple rhythm with her.
Naomi will finish work soon and we'll go off shopping.

#896 Friday 26 April

Round 2 of the Full Moon Battle .... and guess what! Moon wins!

She slept till 4am .... then it was iPad followed by downstairs .... full volume stimming in her room till 6:30 when it was "shower...." Since an early rise suited Naomi's Friday schedule, we surrendered.

I have learned that disturbed sleep in the middle of the night (with good sleep to finish) .... Is much better than good sleep till early morning with disturbed sleep to finish. It was hard to get up.

Nighttime
The kidney infection tale continues .... an ultrasound today ruled out kidney stones ... it looks as though its a plain old infection but a persistent one.

#895 Thursday 25 April

The trip back from Busselton was good .... a welcome stop at the bakery in Pinjarra ... plus a visit to Naomi's favourite place! Then it was head for home. We were all tired but we knew it would be a full moon night .... so we prepared. The moon still won though .... Kaylia woke at midnight and then she was up till about 4am. She plays and fidgets in bed .... then it's time for iPad (with headphones on) ..... then it's downstairs .... then it's upstairs .. and so on.

Now we're at Whiteman Park .... in the movie room. Kaylia loves this .... she can get it nice and dark and still to her heart's content.

#894 Tuesday 23 April

It's 1:30am and we've just got back from a hospital trip .... the kidney infection is still hanging around and after consulting "Health Direct" I took myself off to get a 'pre-emptive strike' of antibiotics. The problem will need some deeper checking.

Brynn was wonderful as usual .... stepping in to look after Kaylia while Naomi took me to hospital. It was interesting to see the hospital again .... I spent a lot of time there in past times when I was ambulance crew in Busselton.

Monday was basically water!! Kaylia spent the whole day cycling between the pool, the shower and the spa bath!

Morning ..... feeling much better. Kaylia is in the pool at 9am after already bathing, showering and breakfasting!

2:30 We're driving back from Cowaramup .... wot a place!

It's a 'character' town .... a park with a very 'tongue in cheek' statue

The lolly shop!  Kaylia scored a 'lolly-pop'  that took her half an hour to defeat.  For a long time she just put one side on her tongue .... then turned it over and put the other side on her tongue!  (not licking ... just tasting)


On the way we stopped off at Happs Winery .... friends from the old days ..... these are our samples!

#893 Sunday 21 April

The drive down from Perth was uneventful and Kaylia was good .... for the usual roughly two hour limit.  Then we stop for a break.  She's very good with her headphones on listening to her choice of music.

We arrived at the Mercure Broadwater Resort at 2 pm and Kaylia was into the pool ASAP!  Of course she remembers it all ..... so she was straight into her routines.

Today she was into the pool .... then we went for a drive .... including the Chocolate Factory.  There are so many new places to see.  "Cow"aramup is spectacular with all the cows placed round the town. Brynn had an amazing coincidence ..... on Friday night she spent the night with some friends and then who should we meet as we walked into the Chocolate Factory but those same friends!  Freaky!

The spa bath is a great hit as usual .... and not just with Kaylia!
