#1279 Friday 4 March

I've been gazumped! .... usurped ..... kicked out.   My favourite rocker-recliner chair has been taken by Kaylia .... and I must sit elsewhere.  I don't really mind .... it's better than having her sit on top of me.  She's too heavy these days and she thinks that she thinks that she's still a dainty flower!

It's been the weekly Chinese num nums tonight.  What a good tradition.

#1278 Thursday 3 March

Kaylia had a therapy program review yesterday ..... she's doing really well. It's much better now that her sessions are in the morning when she's fresh.  At home we need to be consistent in not letting her use one word requests .... she has to use a full sentence.  The trick is to train her to do it without being prompted.

Later: it's tv time .... and Kaylia is as happy as Larry!  She's stimming her head off while she listens to her repertoire of YouTube favorites.

I met a parent yesterday who also has an auty one and we were able to share notes. It was a similar tale of being very reluctant to use medication ..... but once having used it, she wondered how she would cope without it.  There are so many sides to that discussion.

#1277 Sunday 28 February

In recent days Kaylia has been obsessing on "Grandad" ...... after explaining many times that G was no longer with us, she has moved the object onto Grandad's house.   We need to go there today to do some preparation for sale ..... and this morning what was the first thing she said ?   She opened her eyes and said "Grandad's house".

The most annoying aspect of her obsessions is her lack of verbal skill.... she wants to talk about whatever it is but can't get the idea of using more than one or two words.  For us it's annoying ... frustrating ..... boring.  It drives us batty.
