#1729 Saturday 23 December

The friendly staff at the Sebel kindly brought us another bedside clock for Kaylia's room ..... and she stayed in bed!  She didn't get up till nearly 7am.

Since then we've been in the pool ... I was musing about how we would tell that Kaylia was ready to go to the pool on her own...... and I was put right.... her lack of social behaviour means that she will probably always need someone to guide her interaction with other children and adults.

It's 10:30am now.  Soon we will head off to a place nearby in Vasse to meet up with Mim and Steve for lunch.

4pm  lunch was pleasant.... at a very small restaurant in a restored stone original farm cottage.

I've just come in from the car.... about 70 metres from our room..... Kaylia's happy noises were clearly audible round about!

The constant refrain of "school on Monday"  has now morphed into "Christmas on Monday" .... and we're drilling her on the morning routine... that she can stay in bed!

#1728 Friday 22 December

A problem.... that has demonstrated that Kaylia is reading time!  Her bedroom at this place doesn't have a bedside clock.... and this morning she was up at 4:30am!  Normally she is up at 6:30am on the dot.... so this says to me that she is regulating her habits by the time shown on the clock.  So the goal for today is to make sure that she has a clock tonight.

This morning we're doing an op shop tour.... the op shops in Busselton are really enjoyable.

It's time for a teensy weensy rant..... there are several design issues with the place we stay at..... one thing is the design of the chairs at the table.... the table is high.... and so are the chairs.  But the chairs have no foot rest!  So.... a visit to Bunnings.... a bit of timber and a couple of clamps.... Hey presto I'm comfortable.

#1727 Thursday 21 December

We made it!  The trip to Busselton went well .... punctuated by "Busselton??" ... which is Kaylia's version of "Are we there yet?" .... at very regular intervals.

Once settled in to the Sebel, Kaylia headed straight for the swimming pool ..... it's really one of her favourite places.    After a good long swim,  we went off to the shops to stock up on food.  Kaylia is still bothered by noise when out shopping so she was wearing her headphones / ear protectors ..... and she charges off without much interest in where we are!  We have to get her attention so she stays with us.

We are still receiving applicants to be Kaylia's "aupair person" that she wants as a Christmas present ....

#1726 Wednesday 20 December

The morning routine is that Kaylia comes upstairs at 6:30 and has some cuddle time.  A problem with this is that her idea of a cuddle is that she gets to climb all over her favourite mummy and daddy.... which makes it a bit hard to sleep as she is now over 70kg!  She thinks it's very funny.

Today is getting ready for going to Busselton..... but she has 2 hours of therapy this morning.

#1725 Tuesday 19 December

We still haven't found pink iPhone!

Today she began the day with therapy..... she loves it.... in part I'm sure that's because therapy is full of positive feedback for her.

After that it has been flop time, car driving, dingle dangling  and so on.

#1724 Monday 18 December

The lost 'pink iPhone' saga continues .... she has really lost it this time.  Kaylia is really upset and wants the pink one.  The purple one and the white one just don't make the grade.

In the search we have dismantled the two bedrooms ... nada..... searched through the cars ..... no sign of it.  If it had a SIM in it we could make it ring!  Ironically, I bought one of the tracker devices some time ago  ..... but I lost it.

She is still trying to get us to agree that it is "school on Monday" ......

#1723 Sunday 17 December

Woe is us! Tragedy has befallen us! Kaylia has lost "Pink iPhone"!!  She had it this morning but we can't find it anywhere now.

At least the loss has taken her mind off 'School on Monday?' ......  now she plaintively asks 'pink iPhone??'  She's learning some hard lessons lately.

Four more sleeps and we go to Busselton for a Christmas break.  We're all looking forward to it.... a chance for a real rest for a few days.

Progress report on "The Project" .... the power and water are now disconnected from the bungalow and the building is ready for the lifting stage .... to lift the building and slide the channels under ..... and put the rollers in place.  Then two chainblocks will be used to slowly pull the building from the old foundations onto the new foundations.  This will be done after we return from our Busselton break.
