#1492 Thursday 2 March

It's Abbie's birthday today and we celebrated with pizza from Little Ceasars.  Of course when Kaylia found out what the plan was, she could hardly contain herself .... Chocolate pizza!!!

We had to insist that Kaylia have some main course pizza before she could have the dessert pizza.

#1491 Wednesday 1 March

Kaylia is having a specially tough time at present .... lots of anxiety in the afternoon after she gets home from school.  We think it is a reaction to the stresses of transition at school .... new teachers, new activities.  She seems to be coping while at school but then struggles when she gets home.   We're going to try a change in routine today .... going swimming after school.

Last night she had lost her blankets and woken ..... at 4am she comes up the stairs and says "Blue blanket".

Evening
The new tactic of swimming seemed to work .... she didn't want to swim for long .... but the anxiety attack didn't occur
.... so I'd chalk it up as a success.

#1490 Monday 27 February

It's 9:30pm and she won't go to sleep .... all the usual routines and tricks have failed .... so I've resorted to staying with her and just telling her to be quiet every time she starts making a noise.  It's the noise that's stops her from sleeping ..... so if I can short circuit the noise pattern, it may work.

Rats ..... I thought she was nodding off but she has just woken herself up again.  It's going to be a long night.

#1489 Sunday 26 February

Sunday sleep in!  Fat chance! It's  6am and Kaylia is up and about..... I intercepted her downstairs while she was just at the noisy stage.  She had bunched all the blankets up under her head and so she was too cold to sleep.  A "blue blanket" session is the answer .... and now she is happy to rest again.  "Blue blanket" is her name for me spreading all the bedding over her in a neat way so that she is comfortable again.
20 minutes later and it looks like she might actually go to sleep again.

Naah ... no such luck.  Today will be routine with a variation .... we will visit the chocolate factory to show A+A.
