#539 Saturday 24 March

Kaylia has been in a strange but very pleasant mood today .... she has clearly been remembering fun things we did when she was much smaller .... whizzy-whizzies, helicopter swings etc ... and she wants me to do them again! Slight problem! She's now double the weight and size .... and I have a bung wrist!

So instead she settled for lots of hugs and cuddles.

The Risperdal experiment has concluded with a reduction to 75% of the usual dose. We will try again in another 6 months time.

#538 Friday 23 March

Kaylia had her latest review yesterday. Things are going really well. Her progress is exceptional considering the point she began at a few years ago. It's very pleasing.
The recent speech assessment was reassuring too. Although her artic is very poor, it's appropriate for the stage of speech development she is at. As her speech develops, her artic will improve too.

Naomi and I had a "night out" tonight! (Thanks Kat). We went out to a movie ....

No news yet on the Subi repairs.

The Risperdal experiment is progressing. It looks as though she still needs it but maybe we can reduce the dose a bit.

#537 Tuesday 20 March

So far so good. The reduction in Risperdal is producing behaviour changes and reduction in appetite .... but learning doesn't seem to be adversely affected. We'll continue with the trial.
Teddy has a haircut today. We take him down to the Midland office and the groomer comes there with a purpose built trailer and does the job on the spot!

Stop Press .... (not again!!!)

For all of you that have enjoyed driving the Subaru Forester .... be sad .... be VERY sad. This afternoon Kat managed to use the Subi to knock down a tree .... in our driveway .... where no trees grow!! An amazing feat. She was exiting the drive and a pigeon (!!) was in the way ... and Kat thought she was putting her foot on the brake .... but it was the accelerator unfortunately. And in the confusion, the steering wheel decided that the car needed to go off the road .... and the tree said "Me ... Me ... hit me!!"

Poor Kat. Poor Subi. Its badly damaged ... the suspension is broken so it can't be driven at all and all the panels on the left hand side are badly dented.

Tomorrow we will see what the insurance company says of this!

#536 Sunday 18 March

Shades of normality!
When you were little, did you love to be on the bed when the blankets were flicked over you? Well that's Kaylia! She now asks for "boo bankit" ..... and we flick the blankets over her .... "Again!" .... and "Again!"

This is serious type fun!

She's been noticeably more stimmy after the Risperdal reduction. We'll wait and see what school thinks .... if it interferes with her learning too much, she will have to go back on the full dose.
