#1578 Saturday 17 June

Kaylia did not have a good night ..... she was wide awake after midnight .... very noisy.  Fortunately Naomi was still working downstairs at that time ... so I was spared from having to wake up and go through the routine of settling Kaylia.

The ceiling fixing job at Phil's went well ....

..... this is the last sheet being fixed in place .... note the autofeeding screw driver being used .... what a magic toy!  Also .... look out the windows ...... the views stretch from Rottnest to Hillarys Boat Harbour.   The house is up for auction soon.

#1577 Thursday 15 June

Kaylia was up at about 4:30 this morning .... wet bed .... it's the first time in quite a while.  She hasn't "kicked the habit" completely yet but she's made good progress.

Today I went over to Phil's place to help him put up a ceiling. The first stage is to fit the metal strips that the new ceiling is secured to.

Tomorrow we will use a "lifter" to lift the Gyprock sheets and hold them in place while they are glued and screwed.

Later:. She's all tucked up in bed .... she's had 3 stories .... and "Dr Daddy" ....

The mail today had a parcel .... the part for the old chainsaw that I told you about a few days ago ..... and it fits perfectly! So the Electra Mac rides again.

#1576 Wednesday 14 June

Kaylia came home today .... very pleased with herself .... Where did you go today? I went to the city! What did you buy? I got Oportos!

The school excursions are very good for her .... she is completely comfortable in most travel situations.  She has travelled by air many times ..... train and bus too.  She is being prepared for life to the best that she can handle.  We doubt that she will be able to drive a car ..... but by that time, self-driving cars will probably be common.

She's in bed now ..... she likes to have the door open even though she has gone to bed.  I think she likes to know what we're doing.

#1575 Tuesday 13 June

Kaylia was a right little bugga last night .... she just would not settle to sleep.  Finally she got there at 10pm.  I had two sessions of laying down and 'coaching' her .... "No noise .... it's sleep time ..... keep still" and so on.

I spent 3 hours last night and 5 hours today setting up Naomi's new laptop .... and fixing the problems.  It's brand new ..... but it had heaps of software problems and I spent 2 hours on the phone the the Dell tech support.   Her old computer is dying .... and it does not inspire user confidence ..... so we found a way to get her a new one.  The computer is an absolute essential item these days.
7pm.

Phew! Kaylia's in a bad way tonight ..... last night was a picnic in comparison.   I've been kicked out and Naomi is managing the very upset girl.  Naomi thinks it's an imminent period.

#1574 Sunday 11 June

It's 8:50am and it's Sunday morning sleep in!  We have a Kaylee sandwich in bed with lots of wriggling and squirming.  She wants "shower" and Mummy says "No - sleep in!"

Evening
We ended up driving to Bindoon .... aunty Maxine is in quarantine this weekend so we couldn't visit as usual ..... but we still have fit into the requirements of Kaylia's routine.  The last time we went to Bindoon we were stuck behind several huge trucks carrying gigantic earthmovers ..... and this time we found the same thing at exactly the same point in the trip.

Now Kaylia is in her room giggling away.  She is extremely fixated on going to Bali in December .... this afternoon we were revising her Bahasa counting and greetings.

10:30pm.  She had trouble getting to sleep tonight ...... I had resort to the "big gun" .... No sleep means no school!!
Imagine .... using "no school" as a threat ..... Amazing.
