#1291 Saturday 26 March

It's Aunty Maxine's birthday today so we've been over for a little celebratory lunch.  After lunch we headed down to Rockingham .... we're staying at a very pleasant house in Waikiki.  It's a very comfortable spot and I'm sure we will come here again.  Kaylia settled in straight away and has been relaxing.  She has a BIG television in the family room, and two other TVs in the bedrooms ..... so we have her program going on each TV and she swaps from one to another.  The big one is so good.  I'd love to be able to get her a big TV at home.

#1290 Thursday 24 March

The night passed with no calls from school ...... no pleas to come and take her home.   Of course it meant that all through the night I woke at regular intervals to check the phone .....
Today she has breakfast at "camp" and then she's already at school!  So I don't have to do the drive.  She will be very excited when I pick her up this afternoon.

10am. The teachers arranged for Kaylia to call Naomi on the phone ..... it sounds as if she has had a really good time.  She just followed the lead from the other kids and wasn't upset at all!  Wonderful!

Afternoon:  I spoke too soon.  The school called to say that the day's program was too much for her and that she needed to go home.

This morning on the drive to school, Kaylia played one verse of a Dolly Parton song ..... over and over and over. Your mind just blanks it out after a while.  One day we will be able to ask her .... "Why?"

9pm It's all quiet so far .... no calls to say that she can't settle or what.....
We took the opportunity to go to a movie ..... Dead Pool ..... it has to be the funniest I've seen in a long time.

Kaylia has her school camp night tomorrow ..... Gee the teachers are game to take this on when it's a full moon!   I mentioned this today and the response was "Yes .... We know!  I guess it's ok to be awake all night sometimes."

I think it will be quite an experience for Kaylia ...... I can just imagine her trying to work out just what is going on. Since she will be surrounded by her friends she will probably think it's ok.

#1287 Sunday 20 March

Yesterday was a good example of Kaylia's strange ways .... we spent the whole morning driving round the city . She was very happy the whole time.   I was looking for "freebies" at it suited her just fine!

Today she wanted to go to the E Shed in Fremantle .... after that it was op-shop time for Naomi .... and Kaylia and I went to Bunnings.   I'm trying to germinate spinifex seedlings.   I figure that since the Perth climate is becoming desert like, then we may as well try growing desert plants.
Spinifex is a great plant .... I remember using it to create a crude air conditioning system in the BBQ area 40 years ago
