Kaylia had a good night ... it may have been because of her being so tired after Thursday night/Friday morning .... but it might be due in part to the factthat I put a blanket over a doorway in the bedroom. The reduced light level in the early morning could mean that she sleeps better. We'll see.
Naomi is having an OK time in Bali ... despite the mess with her flight ...
(K has just come home so I'll continue this later.)
Later:
We've been down to HN to get two phone handsets that I'll take to the villa so that guests have a local phone if needed.
Then it was icecream time and Bunnings time ..... and of course, dingle-dangles! (we select from their range of light chains ..... and Kaylia is happy!)

#425 Friday 11 November
4am .... we're awake with "notty rise" ... I still don't know what it is but it seems to be a Playschool song.
The full moon was a factor last night ...
6:30am. .... We're 'in training' for Sunday morning when Naomi comes home at 4am .... Kaylia has been wide awake since 4 and playing downstairs since 5. She gets up as soon as its light.
There's been some big noises from down below .... I suspect that toys are spread everywhere!
Bedtime:
I was right! Toys everywhere.
It's been a good day. Kaylia is handling the absence of Naomi very well .... It bodes well for future trips.
Tonight we had tea at Alfred's Kitchen .... a burger spot in Guildford. Great stuff!

#424 Thursday 10 November
5pm .... NEVER fly with Air Asia! I had booked a flight with them for Naomi .... and a week ago they changed the flight time to 12 hours later .... then just before flying today they send an email to say that we should check in NOW because their systems will be down for an upgrade. We try do do this and discover that the fight on the website is 24 hours earlier than their email stated! Chaos and high stress .... Kaylia picked up on our distress and she is now an hour into the worst meltdown she's had in about a year or two ..... really bad.
This will be one Bali trip that we won't want to ever remember. Naomi has gone to the airport in a highly stressed state ... she clearly won't be able to relax while away. Perhaps we should cancel the whole trip?
7pm Kaylia is happy again. We had some firm talks and she was able to bring herself down. Now she's dancing again.
Naomi has emailed to say that Air Asia won't compromise ... what a mess! ... and this situation isn't covered by insurance.
8pm. She's off in the land of nod.
This evening has been a stark reminder of the way life used to be a couple of years ago ....
... Oh BTW. In the middle of all this kerfuffle .... I think I have a stone trying to pass! Ce la vie. Either it will or it won't ... It won't kill me either way.

#423 Wednesday 9 November
Dang! Missed another day! Life is too busy. Sometimes I think back to my life-style of 10 years ago .... life is so complex and busy now in comparison. It's not good for either Naomi or me.
Kaylia is a big factor in this of course. .... our daily timetable (outside of work) is dominated by her. There's not much room for anything else.
Muffin Man .... while shopping, we hear Kaylia singing in the aisles .... and her latest favourite is "Do you know the Muffin Man?"

We spend ages trying to learn her language.
A good day today .... much progress on the finance front .... we may have found a lender. Big sigh of relief (in anticipation)!

#422 Monday 7 November
It has been an expensive night! I woke a short while ago at 5am and realized that I could hear a noise from downstairs .... which turned out to be the clothes dryer! It had stuck 'on' from about 9pm last night ... on 'high'! The clothes are VERY dry!
No ... It didn't catch fire!
Later: it's been a busy day .... trying to arrange finance for the villa. I have a couple of promising avenues ... we just need one!
Kaylia is happy .... Naomi bought some new sheets ... very silky, slippery .... Kaylia is entranced!

#421 Sunday 6 November
Milestone! Last night she woke herself up and went to the toilet! (somewhere round 2am .... I didn't rouse enough to check the time). Now ... if she can just do it again .....
Later: It's been a good day ... up till about 4pm . Then she turned into a grot! .... probably constipation .... she is such a strong willed person .... she refuses to drink and of course this leads to C !
