#1159 Friday 22 May

Today a new project was begun.   Callum has been wanting some hard physical work to help him keep fit ..... so we've started on rebuilding the pathway to the side door of the house.   This currently has six steps down .... steps that slope at an awkward angle and height.  So we will change into a more "user friendly " form.

#1158 Thursday 21 May

Brrr it's cold!   Winter seems to have arrived in a rush and we have the fire going all day.  ( I'm sitting in front of the fire in my rocking chair to write this.)

It's so cold Kaylia has been choosing to have a bath inside with warm water!!  She's become a real water baby lately ..... as soon as she gets home from school she wants the bath.

#1157 Tuesday 19 May

It was assembly day at school today ...... boy it was good to watch Kaylia!  She was so happy and excited to be there.


Even though she still needed an aide to coach her when it was her turn to stand to receive an award, she was clearly aware of what was going on and proud to be there.  She looked at Hannah and I (sitting at the back of the assembly) with a big smile ..... and it was so good.


  This video is determined to play on its side!  ..... and the teacher is calling up the next child .... Kaylia has already been called.


During the trip to school, Hannah (sitting in the back seat) asked Kaylia for a water bottle to be passed back ..... Kaylia immediately reacted and performed the task accurately.  This may not seem much but it's a far cry from her capability a few years ago.  Then we would struggle to gain her attention ... then we would struggle for her to gain comprehension of what was being asked of her.  Now her responses are normal.  Wow!  What a long way she has come.

#1156 Monday 18 May

Tonight we had another puzzle session ..... Kaylia was asking for something and we were all try to work it out .... it's very like "Spicks & Specs" when the contestants have to guess the song.   We don't even know that it's a song at the start!  Kaylia keeps repeating a string of sounds and we try guess.  First we found that it was a song .... then she was able to sing a bar or two of the tune ..... and finally Callum guessed that it was "On top of the world" by Imagine Dragons!!! She was rapt .... We found it on YouTube .... and then listened to it over and over.

...... but it was a good game!

#1155 Sunday 17 May

This morning ..... after the pancakes .... we headed over to visit Aunty Nettie's new house.   We were prepared for a rejection by Kaylia and then we'd beat a hasty retreat!  But no ..... the house has a large spa bath .... Kaylia took one look and was then in the bath for the whole visit!!

There were so many bubbles she was in ecstasy.....
