#1137 Saturday 18 April

A comment was made yesterday that Kaylia is naturally using a way of living called "mindfulness" ..... living in the moment without worry about past or future.  The comment has a lot of truth.   Now that her mind is quiet .... without the frenetic anxiety..... she has an absence of worry.   The times when she is in the car are a good example. As soon as she is in the car (in most cases) she is purely occupied with music or with what is going past outside ..... no worry or anxiety.

It's now 10:30am and Kaylia is still fast asleep .... so I get thinking time .... blogging time.   My current thought is that the way we "fill in time" has changed .... it used to be that we'd read a magazine or the paper ..... now we reach for our mobile phone!  We still do the same things ..... but the medium is digital instead of paper.

#1136 Friday 17 April

It's 8am and she's snuggled up in bed.  It's a cold morning and bed's a good place to be.

Lately we've been impressed by the way Kaylia is doing many wee runs before settling to sleep ..... it clearly wasn't enough last night!  At midnight the bed was completely awash! Po ting.

#1135 Wednesday 15 April

Rats!   I'd just completed a long discussion of disabilities ..... and then managed to delete it all by accident!!!

Well .... I'm not going to try and recreate it.

Evening:  Kaylia is much happier during these school holidays ..... much more relaxed and happy.  She's getting better at entertaining herself.....

..... but she still counts the days till school starts again!!

#1134 Monday 13 April

Naomi came home yesterday and Kaylia was very happy about it ...... Snuggles and cuddles all day.   Naomi is better but not over the problem yet .... she has to report in at the end of the week to check on progress.

Kaylia is a different girl these days compared with a few years ago ..... much calmer and much more alert.   She's still needing constant supervision and attention but we're able to relax a little more at times.  Fortunately she's a very cuddly child and this makes up for a lot.
