#1146 Saturday 2 April

Last night she did the "poo" story again ..... and we all witnessed it.  She changed the food to the Chinese we'd just had for tea ..... to me it shows that she understands what she is saying .... that she understands the digestive process.   I wonder whether this has been a topic at school because I don't think we've really taught this.

It's currently 7:30am .... and she's having a completely cold shower!  We've been reading an article about the different types of fat in our bodies .... how "brown fat" is actually good for us.  Apparently one of the factors for generating brown fat is being cold .... so Kaylia should be doing it well!

End of the day:  at long last the fire restrictions are off and I can light up the rubbish piles .... so that's what happened today!  In the morning we burned small piles and this afternoon we burned a big pile.

It was a new experience for Hannah and she really enjoyed it.

#1145 Thursday 30 April

It was "The Day" ...... a visit to Dr Christie!   She was so excited.   I made up a little song about it and she sang the song for most of the trip from school to Midland.

Bedtime:   She's just made one of those classic children's utterances ..... sort of risqué.... but what the heck.   She was sitting on the bed after tea ..... I had cooked tuna pasta ..... and she points to her backside and says (in Kaylia language) "I'm making poo with pasta."   On the surface it was very funny but it shows she has an understanding of the digestive system!

#1144 Wednesday 29 April

It was a mistake to tell her of the imminent visit to Dr Christie ...... we've heard little else since!  She won't leave it alone.   Fortunately she can almost control herself (nagging) so we get breaks between the bouts.  It makes it very hard when you know something interesting is on TV ..... and there's no way that you're going to be able to listen.

#1143 Tuesday 28 April

She's been so cheerful and happy tonight ..... it's been such a good time to watch her.   Even though she is a huge challenge for us, she gives us so much pleasure.

I told her that she will be going to see Dr Christie on Thursday ..... and she's over the moon!   So excited!  

#1142 Sunday 26 April

The strange absence of appetite continues ...... she's not very hungry at all!  Of course this is quite a good thing but we just wonder why.

One possibility is that it's a reaction to antibiotics..... she has some skin sores that the doctor is treating with antibiotics.   We know that Naomi has a bad reaction to some antibiotics so it could well be that Kaylia does too .... and there's no way for us to know.
