#925 Saturday 21 June

What a wet, blustery day!  Zoe, you'd really love it.
Kaylia had the morning at Whiteman Park with Kat while I had some serious shed time .... working to create order from chaos.   It's been a few years since I did very much in the shed and now it's in a mess.  It's fun to analyse to issues and work to the goal.

After lunch Kaylia and I went down to Bunnings .... it wasn't a good visit because they had a kids karaoke activity set up next to the cafe and the playground .... it was very loud and Kaylia couldn't enjoy herself.   So we gave up and went home.  ..... it was time for a warm cuddle on the bed.

Then soon after, Naomi came home from work and we all went off shopping .... in the rain. ..... now it's time to watch ABC4kids after a yummy tea.

The replacement au pair hunt is going well .... we have a possible who's a chef!

#924 Friday 20 June

Well .... things are certainly happening with a bang!  We're looking for a new au pair now as Kat has decided that she will leave us.  We found this out yesterday so now we look for Number 18!  At this point it looks as if Kat will leave in a week.

Kaylia won't be affected as she always 'adopts' her new person very quickly.

Teddy has a new jacket!
It should keep him nice and warm.

#922 Wednesday 18 June

Another cold wet day.  Firewood is a priority now .... to keep the fire stoked and the house warm.  The hoist/winch that I built (to lift loads up and down between the balcony and the workshop) is proving invaluable.  The main part of it is a frame that I have been carting round for about 30 years.  The frame has been useful at other times but I think it has found the ideal role.

The balcony railing is now removable to allow access.  The frame that you see below is used to carry "stuff" up and down.

Kaylia continues to be happy.  Her happiness is a source of joy and satisfaction to both Naomi and I.

#921 Tuesday 17 June

It's 5:30am and she's gone downstairs.  She's certainly "a chip off the block" .... Kaylia and I are similar in many ways.  We are both early to bed and early to rise.

Bed time
It's been a wild, wet and stormy day.  Kaylia was even happy to change into warm clothes after school!  She usually resists warm clothes .... her standard garb is shorts and T-shirt..... that is till she can get under the hose and strip off .... which she does in almost any weather.   She's amazing.

#920 Sunday 15 June

Where's our sleep-in?   Kaylia's been up and raring to go since 6:30!  Even the timer hasn't worked. ..... if we set the timer, she watches it closely and counts down to shower time .... but not this time!

1pm .... at Bunnings in the playground.  There are lots of other little kids but she's not bothered by them.  What a welcome improvement.  Not that long ago, she didn't know how to handle other children ... it would build her stress and we'd have to leave.  Now she doesn't even push her way round .... it's great!
