#1236 Saturday 3 October

Yesterday was "therapy at home" day ...... so Kaylia was able to sleep in!  With the holiday activities she has been quite tired at night so it was good for her to catch up.

Yesterday was also significant for ......
1) Hannah finding out that she has to go onto a coeliac diet ..... this is quite a good thing in some ways as it fits our current diet of unprocessed food that's low in free glutamates .... we will all benefit.
2) I found out that I was being made redundant from my main contracts ......  so we will need to make some changes to cope with the change. Fortunately it won't affect Kaylia's therapy as that is now fined by NDIS.

Today?  Swimming, bath time, shopping .... the usual Saturday routine.

Afternoon ..... She's had the morning at Kings Park and now she's in the outside bath ..... lots of bubbles and very cold water.  It fortunate that the bubble bath soap liquid we use is very cheap ..... $2 a liter!  We use a lot of it!
This morning she had a cold shower!  I couldn't stand to watch so I added some hot water to take the chill off.  That got an immediate request for "more cold please" !!!!!

Last night as she was drifting off to sleep she was giggling to herself .... so I thought I'd try to find out what it was about.  She was imagining the Wiggles "Hot Popcorn" song!!!  This adds a bit more data to the riddle of her imagination (or lack of).   It appears that she can hold an image in her mind of something she is familiar with ..... but it's a abstract image that she can't do.

#1235 Thursday 1 October

She's off at "Friendship Club" again today ...... she will probably be on top of the world again when she gets home.  It feels very good to be able to give her such good experiences and good memories.  She does remember them very well and she likes to talk about it.  And when there are photos or videos, she looks at them over and over.

We have a sad dilemma at present ..... Teddy bit Kaylia again last night.  It was bad enough to draw blood and badly bruise her hand.  We are not sure what to do about him.  We don't want to put him down but he has really messed up big time.  A new home without kids is the best option .....

#1234 Wednesday 30 September

Yesterday Kaylia had a whole day with "Friendship Club" run by an autism support group .... she came home on top of the world .... she clearly enjoyed her day.  The group had a range of ages and plenty of savvy carers .... so it was well suited to Kaylia.

Today she has swimming with Callum in the morning .... then therapy after lunch .... and then we will take Teddy to have a haircut!

Naomi made the mistake long ago of writing "Busselton" on the calendar ...... and Kaylia has been reading ahead and worked out that we will be going to "B" next week.  She's excited about that!

#1233 Monday 28 September

Royal Show day!   Are we there yet?  We all went for a family day ..... Kaylia was so excited!
At the show she has two goes in the inflatable balls ......
I have lots of videos for her memories.

We had fun with show bags and then we all headed home ..... with a very tired and happy Kaylia.

In the afternoon Kaylia spent ages in the bath and spa ..... while I went off hunting for Gumtree freebies.  I came home with a car and trailer load of junk!  It may be junk .... but it's all "toys" to me!   Lengths of steel .... the remains of a couple of electric golf buggies .... bits of stuff ..... Wonderful!

#1232 Sunday 27 September

Phizzogg!!!  This morning Kaylia decided that she'd had enough of Yanchep ..... HOME!!  she says.

We're not sure what caused the change ..... it could be that Hannah and Callum went off for sport ..... or it could be that she had seen that Yanchep was still the same so we could go home ..... or it could be that she had realised that there was no internet for her at Yanchep so we had to go home for YouTube!  Who knows.

Anyway .... we're home again.
