#1231 Saturday 26 September

Well ..... Kaylia is happy!   We're at Yanchep ..... She's under the hose and Teddy and I are in the hammock.

We've done a tour of the playgrounds .... and we've had some "op shop" time. Now we can relax for a while.

#1230 Thursday 24 September

Kaylia has some "growing up" issues at school ..... she has never had any concept of "personal space " or boundaries ..... and now we're told that it is getting to be a problem.   Phew!  How do we deal with that one?

It reminds me of the current discussion in society able how the justice system handles people with disabilities ..... Kaylia has no idea about how she unintentionally hurts us .... she's such a boogie head.  She doesn't feel pain very much so she doesn't think about the pain she might be causing to others.   This is tolerable as a child ..... but in 10 years time?? Problem!

I had some fun yesterday .... we have some dead trees that have to come down .... one is in a tricky spot where the way it falls has to be very controlled so that it doesn't squash a rainwater tank.  I'm doing it in 4 stages ..... yesterday's stage 1 went well.

This evening the birds have been feasting on leftover spaghetti ..... and lining up for their turn!

She's still getting uptight about "holiday" .... the degree of the problem concerns us and we're trying an increase in medication to see what effect it has.  Hopefully we can lower the dose again after the holiday period.

We had a Skype session with Chris on Sunday evening..... at first Kaylia didn't remember him and just walked away..... but she came back soon after and clearly remembered him.   We all hope that Chris will be able to visit us again in the future.

The steps project is effectively finished .....

#1228 Sunday 20 September

I wish we could communicate clearly with Kaylia ..... I suspect she would tell us that she is a happy, calm person that gets agitated by physical causes that she doesn't understand.   I'm writing this while everyone is having a Sunday morning sleep in ..... I'm downstairs with Kaylia ..... she woke up cold at 4am so I'm keeping her asleep so Naomi can have a good sleep in.

Naomi's pain is improving but not gone .... it flares up if she makes a wrong movement ...... it's not good.

Kaylia is very excited by the prospect of the "holiday" in Yanchep ... she counts the days at every opportunity .... to our long suffering annoyance.

At home the step-building project is getting exciting ..... we're working on the last part at the top level.
