#1289 Saturday 5 December

Kaylia has been showing signs of pain again ..... this time she seemed to say that it was a sore tummy ..... it's the time when we can expect puberty tummy pains so that might be it.  

At this moment she's in the bath outside .... it's a cold day and rain has been bucketing down ..... she's amazing!

This afternoon I make another maintenance trip to the villa ..... hopefully there won't be as much work to do this trip ..... I feel like I could do with a rest.

Last night we had a good skype call from Chris ..... it was good to exchange news.  He still hopes to come and visit again soon but his study is pretty full on.

At the airport:  Things have certainly changed since my last trip ...... my boarding pass says "Gate 55"  ..... I said "Where's that?"  "Don't worry sir, we still have only 5 gates ..... gate 55 is gate 5!"

At "Gate 55" there is now a large comfy sitting area with all the IT mod-cons. It's very nice .... it used to be just a bare corridor.

The sky to the north is very dark and stormy.

The alien spacecraft coming in to land are a nice touch!

Nearby is a "selfie addict" ..... she was taking photos of herself for ages!

#1288 Thursday 3 December

While relaxing after tea last night I had a battle to stop Kaylia picking at her toenails ...... and I later found that I had failed!  Several of her toes were a bloody mess.  This is a real problem as she doesn't really feel the pain ..... so the normal 'control' of ..."Ow, that hurts!" ....doesn't work.   We will have to be even more vigilant.

She wet the bed last night .... the first time in ages!  

Today and tomorrow are both transition days at BCC ...... she's really looking forward to it.   The move to high school next year should go well.

#1287 Tuesday 1 December

Kaylia was 'performing' in the school assembly this morning ..... we all went along.  Fortunately the 'performing' was not in the negative sense ;-)   She really loves it and gets very excited ..... the TA sits behind her and holds up a "Quiet" flashcard when she gets too noisy ...... most of the time she is fascinated by what the other kids are doing  ..... and every now and then, she will join in!

I took lots of video .... I'll try to add some to this post when I can remember how.

Those of you who are familiar with "Get Up" will probably have seen their new campaign to target local shire councils to ask the councils not to support businesses that profit from child abuse ..... I'm impressed with this campaign ...

You and your local council


The campaign should be very powerful against the two large companies that run the detention centres ..... because those businesses also have lucrative work with the local councils.

#1286 Monday 30 November

Summer is here again ..... when dawn is very early ..... so Kaylia is up with the sun and the day begins for us!   ..... 5am this morning.

At breakfast everyone was at the table eating  ..... except me .... I was still preparing school lunch and all the other morning routines. So Naomi thought I needed an "ego stroke" ......

Evening:  News for Callum ..... I've started a new brew .... of lemonade .... half alcoholic and half non-alcoholic.  The lovely brew of apple cider is going fast! Only 4 bottles left.

#1285 Sunday 29 November

It was the usual routine today ..... except that I couldn't find the 'special' implements for making pancakes!  With new people in the house the items had found new places!

 ...... and "Dessert" played all the way again!

The greywater recycling system is now functional ..... and today I began the overflow pond.
