Strange morning ..... for the past few days Kaylia has been excited about going to 'Tyzak pool' ..... it's been quite a while since she was last there.  So today was the day.  But when she arrived, she was overcome with anxiety and the visit was abruptly stopped.  The pool had many swimmers so that may have been the reason.  It's another situation where communication would make such a difference..... she could tell us what the problem was.

The new tactic to combat the "school" nagging seems to be working ..... perhaps too well?  I think she might be nagging to get the attention response..... who knows.  The problem as always is her inability to communicate with us.

Today I have .... with help from Ashley .....fixed the faulty light switch in the bathroom.  Many of you will know the 'pull cord' to turn on the light ..... it is no more.

#1543 Wednesday 3 May

Kaylia did not sleep well at all last night. She woke at 1am and I could hear her talking and singing for the rest of the night.  I'm not sure that there's ever going to be a fix for her restless sleep ....

#1542 Monday 1 May

Last week I was searching for information about what we were doing a couple of years ago .... and I turned to this blog to see if there were any clues.  There were .... but I was struck by something else.  How good life is with Kaylia now compared with then.  Her happiness has improved enormously .....

Today I've been cutting down another tree.  It was a 30 metre high gum tree that was too close to the roof.  We were able to fall it exactly where I planned .... No damage to the building or to other trees. It was a good morning.

Evening:. We've been treated to a magical moment ..... after tea we noticed a kangaroo just below the balcony .... searching for tasty morsels where I'd been working today .... and stand high on his hind legs to reach leaves.

#1541 Sunday 30 April

Poor IiNet .... they are trying to fix a horrible statistic .... us!  There's a fault on our phone line that is still there after about a year of trying to fix it.  It's not the fault of IiNet .... Telstra have the responsibility to fix it but it's an intermittent fault and they just can't find the cause..... but it's messing up the numbers for iiNett.

Kaylia is very happy this morning.  Naomi has read about a family teaching their child about household skills needed for independent living .... so the current project is teaching her how to wash clothes​.

We're also frustrated by Kaylia's nagging and looping about school.  Naomi is trying a tactic of diverting her thoughts to other things ..... such as how many fingers and toes ..... and other diversions.
