#693 Saturday 8 September

Kuningan - Holiday - everything closed!

So this is new today!  I, Zoe get to write on the blog. What power that means, oh man is that smart?
Mhhh .... what could I say? Should I talk about life here or voice my honest opinion on the things that disturb me in this world .... maybe advocate for world peace?
decisions decisions.....
Well I guess the best thing would be to just start and figure it out along the way. I truly wish I could apply and follow this idea in every part of my personal life but unfortunately I am a "planner" and not following a certain path creates anxiety inside me. Not knowing something .... oh man, is there anything worse? Some people can handle it and I definitely envy them for it but me? No I still have to learn that - Baby steps.
.
Coming back here for example .... puhh what that did to me... I wasn't sure how Kaylee would react. Both Ian and Naomi have told me that she has been talking about me  ..... but would it be the same relationship I had with her two years ago? I was so relieved that she was the same happy and bubbly young lady that not only recognised me but also looked for contact. The feeling of pure happiness is inside me right now ... it feels pretty good!
This morning I woke up to another beautiful sunny day and enjoyed a walk on the beach listening to a song from the Chicago soundtrack over and over again. What shall I say .. the song is about a group of women in jail that tell their story of how and why they killed their husbands. Not sure what is says about me but I really like it!
When I returned  everyone was busy working on the villa. It's the perfect day for a little DIY. Miss K is happy playing in the oh so comfortable air-conditioned room or in the bathtub. I sincerely hope that she will want to hop into the pool again soon. I really enjoyed myself in there with her yesterday. Any longer and she would have turned into a mermaid! What a life! Seriously that girl truly is one lucky child. She has a mother and a father that not only love and care for her but that always have her best interest at heart. They support her every step of the way, never turning their back on her and always showing her just how much they love her. Is there anything more valuable than that?
Alright I can't take it anymore the water is calling out to me. I will hop in now and enjoy the pool. Seriously guys .... if this is just remotely like what heaven will be like  ..... then I am ready!

Memiliki hari yang indah dan Selamat tinggal!

#692 Friday 7 September

The 'weather screen' that had been ordered for the living room was fitted yesterday .... It looks good and should stop the rain coming into the room during the wet season. This has been a problem as the rain blows in and puddles on the floor .... and then makes the wooden doors swell and become difficult to open.
.
Ketut is making good progress on the task of constructing our own demountable pool fence .... we will be able to erect the fence when guests need it .... and store it away when it's not needed.
.
8pm. Today the Team Kaylee divided to conquer! In the morning Naomi looked after Kaylia while AJ and Zoe were being Bali tourists .... and I did some 'power shopping' for business printing, banner and locating terrazzo repair materials. (In the past and over-enthusiastic cleaner has damaged the polished surface on the basin in one of the bathrooms .... It has proven hard to find out how to repair the damage.)
Then in the afternoon, A+Z took over Kaylee duties while Naomi and I went off for another bout of 'stuff-hunting'. We found a source of wall tiles .... went to Biaritz .... and gathered supplies for a 'villa gathering'! The owners of three villa are in residence this weekend .... and since tomorrow will be a local celebration day, we will have a BBQ together in Villa Hibiscus! Greg and Maxine have a barbie so we will all commune with the noble 'singed sausage' ....
.
About an hour ago the power failed .... not an unusual event .... and our generator burst into life! Woo hoo! It works!
.
Later .... Well it does work ..... but it wasn't a power failure. It was the old problem of a breaker tripping due to a fault somewhere in the house. We must somehow find the fault ....

#691 Thursday 6 September

It's 2am and I'm settling to sleep after picking up Zoe at the airport. It was a long wait ... about an hour at the barrier till she came out of customs. It is SO good to see her again .... we didn't stop nattering the whole trip back to the villa.
Now we look forward to seeing Kaylia's reaction in a few hours!
AJ came to the airport too .... and headed for the pool when we got home.
.
Now .... What happened today? We split up and did different things .... In the morning Kaylia headed for 'Peek a Boo' with Naomi and Zoe in tow ..... AJ went exploring the local markets .... and I hired a motorbike and went across Denpasar looking for plumbing parts. (The taps are 'ceramic insert' type and I can only find one supplier of parts ..... Most want to sell a complete tap - not just the part.)
.
Kaylia spent the afternoon either playing with toys or swimming in the pool. In a way these are 'routine behaviours' but the way she did them was different to previous trips.
Tea time was a trip to Pizza Hut again .... we were not happy .... the food was normal but they messed up delivery .... Kaylia's pizza was not brought out till after Naomi and my meals had been finished! This made the meal difficult and we will have find a different place to eat in future.
.
Evening was massage time! After the late airport run, I crashed and looked after K while the other went to De'anti.

#690 Wednesday 5 September

Well .... we made it.
The trip turned into a bit of a saga at the end .... it looks as if she didn't need the sedation this trip.  In the usual way, we had given her Painstop to make her sleepy .... she was OK during the flight and right up till we were waiting in line for passport processing on arrival in Bali .... and she then began to get quite anxious.  It increased and became quite a bad time for her ... and us!  The fellow passengers were really good to us and all gave way and moved us to the front of the queue to cut down the processing time.  By the time we got through customs and were in the car, she was in a bad way.  The traffic was very slow and we were madly trying to get her to think about the coming time in the villa with the pool and her toys .... to no avail.  A second top up of Lovan made a bit of a difference but she was in a bad way.
.
When we reached the villa, she was able to put herself into her night time routine and recover.  Now we have had tea at Pizza Hut and she is in stimmy-toy mode.  I think she will sleep well tonight.  While driving to Pizza Hut she was 'telling' us about "Peek a Boo" ... she will go there tomorrow.
.
It's 8pm and I'm filling in time till it's time to go to the airport to collect Zoe.  The radio is tuned to a Bali FM radio ... it's playing a nice rindik.
The villa has a few maintenance items needed ..... another of the taps has given up the ghost.  I have the spares needed though.  Ketut (gardener .... Putu's husband) has begun work on constructing the bamboo pool fence.  It will be a set of panels that can be erected when desired .... stored in the garage when not needed.
Naomi is cheerful ... it looks as though we may have another two villa bookings!  It will be very good when we can get the occupancy rate to a desired level.
.
BTW way, the blog has recently passed a bit of a milestone .... it has been read more than 20,000 times!

#689 Tuesday 4September

Tomorrow!
.
Yesterday's blog was a bit ..... empty?
It's partly because I feel as though the day had followed her routine without deviation. It's as though the routine is a railway track .... and she's the train that follows the track. When something happens that throws her off the normal track onto a different track .... it's serious. If something throws her off the track entirely .... that's really bad news.

Sometimes there's a dead-end ..... and she doesn't know what to do next. Sometimes it's a turn-table with multiple exits ..... she has to scroll through all the possible exits to find one that works.
.
And sometimes there's no track to run on ..... Meltdown!

#688 Monday 3 September

Day after tomorrow!
.
Today has been very difficult in the office .... intermittent Internet! One minute it's on, the next it's off. It's an external problem .... it looks as though a tech working on the phone lines has caused a fault .... they have to find the fault though. In the meantime we have a hard job trying to work. Our main software is Internet based.

#687 Sunday 2 September

It's Fathers Day .... look at this .....

Kaylia and I spent the morning at the Bayswater Waves pool .... what a great place!  If we ever move house, we'll have to move closer to this pool.  We managed to be there for two wave sessions today ... and we had lots of rides down the waterslide ....... Kaylia just loves it there.
.
Then it was over to Grandad's for lunch there .... followed by a shopping session at Midlandgate ... another of Kaylia's great loves.  Boost milkshake followed by the Red Dot store.  She chose another set of yellow plastic ducks this time.  She always chooses something the same ... it's another facet of the auty 'routines' behaviour.
.
Now we're home relaxing.
