#1758 Saturday 3 February

She began at the lake.... then she changed her mind and said "home" ..... and then she wanted Bilgoman..... Phew.

When she eventually got home it was bubble bath time.  She's got the knack of controlling the amount of bubbles so that she can still have "two bubble bath". ... I had been putting a veto on the second dose of bubble bath if she had too much bubbles.

Now it's 3pm and it's quiet time.  I've been pondering the life of raising a child who doesn't play.... who doesn't explore.... who isn't curious.

#1757 Friday 2 February

Poor Kaylia has had a bit of upheaval at school ....... on Wednesday, K was at "House" .... and all her friends had moved to the upper school class at "Eastside".  At House she was in a totally new group of kids.  It didn't go well so the teachers  tried moving her to Eastside.  Apparently she was much better there and she was much happier.

Yesterday she was in Eastside and it was really good.  Today, they tried bringing her back to House .... it was no good.

So Kaylia has been moved to the upper school class at  Eastside from now on. 

#1756 Wednesday 31 January

The first day went well and she came home happy. 

This evening a situation occurred which showed a very good level of thinking......   I had turned off the old ADSL modem this morning and Kaylia came out with her iPhone...... "Internet" she says.  She needed her iPhone to be connected to the new NBN!   I think this is quite something that she was able to work out what the problem was.

#1755 Tuesday 30 January

Happy birthday Kaylia.... 14 years old. 

 

Each year Naomi makes a cake according to Kaylia's expression on interest.   This year it was a clear choice for a "strawberry cake" ..... so this cake is a delicious strawberry flavour.

Kaylia was very impressed .... but a bit subdued as she was recovering from a very bad night Monday night.  She woke at 2am on Tuesday and she was awake the rest of the night.  So was I! I was trying to get her back to sleep but it didn't work.  I blame the "super moon" as she was not especially stimming over school or her birthday.

This afternoon Kaylia had her review with the pediatrician .... he hasn't seen her for 18 months now and her remarked on her lack of  "stimmy-ness" .... she sat and quietly watched proceedings.  This is good progress.  Her height has increased by 8cm but her weight has only increased by 2kg ..... this is also good progress.

#1755 Sunday 28 January

It's 6pm and Naomi is doing "3 stories" with Kaylia..... part of which is singing some lullabies.  One of these is in Italian and I can hear Kaylia cheerfully singing along in Italian!  Her enunciation is actually better than her  English. 

Today we visited Aunty Maxine.... it was a little birthday party in advance.... and Kaylia clearly enjoyed it.
