The stack of timber (that is now sorted in the shed) is the catalyst for action ..... the timber makes possible a project I've had in mind for a long time. To construct an extension to the balcony to house a spa!

So Gumtree has provided a spa for $100 that will make it happen.

As soon as I got it home, Kaylia was wanting it filled with water!  It's going to be a task to control her watery ways! 

#1177 Friday 26 June

It's 11pm ..... somewhere close by a noisy party has been in progress for hours .... a live band.  They're not too bad but it's getting awfully boring ..... the same sound over and over.  It sounds to be about 3 houses down the street.   Fortunately it's not loud enough to keep Kaylia awake!   A few minutes ago I got her up for a toilet run .... and she almost sat on the floor rather than the seat .... she was still asleep.

#1176 Wednesday 24 June

Kaylia has been funny tonight ..... lately she wants to wear "special nightie" to bed ..... (Mummy's nighties) ...... and tonight she was having trouble choosing. It was very funny.

Hannah was commenting tonight on Kaylia's cheerfulness ..... and she's right. Kaylia is very cheerful..... and it's such a pleasant change from a few years ago.

Today I arranged for a truck to bring the free load af timber up to Darlington and leave it on the verge.  Then I spent all afternoon moving it down into the shed.  It's about half a ton of good timber ..... so I'm really worn out.   The timber will be spot on for one of my "back-burner projects ". ...... creating an extension to the decking to have a spa.   Our place is not suitable for a pool but a spa would be spot on.  I have in mind to build a timber "hot tub" rather than the normal fibreglass sort.

What a day!! A training centre in midvale has been forced to close by federal funding cuts ..... and is clearing out its site by giving away all the contents.   I have been making trips all day bringing home freeby stuff ...... and now my "grey cells" are going mad ..... thinking of all the projects I can plan!

I can ffeeeeelllll the days getting longer already!

Each morning after Kaylia has finished her Nutella on toast, she puts the crusts out on the bird tray.  This morning we noticed that the birds go for the bits of Nutella first.  After they finish all of that .... then they go for the bread part.

#1173 Sunday 21 June

6:30am on the shortest day of the year ..... and it's completely dark ..... no sign of dawn.

Later:  Callum had "a night out with the boys" last night .....  this morning we suggested that Berrocca tablets can be good for a hangover.  He'd never heard of them .... and without reading the instructions he just swallowed one!  These are effervescent tablets that are supposed to be dissolved in a glass of water ..... so the effect of one fizzing up in his tummy was quite a 'wakeup'!  Talk about "blonde"!

Evening:  continuing our little tradition of pizzas at home ...... gluten free, unprocessed ..... these are our yummy results for tonight!
