Missed a day again! The past two days have been exhausting for me .... The next day, I struggle to remember things that have happened a few hours ago. The product of poor sleep followed by high stress days.
It's 8:30am and Kaylia and are at Bunnings ... Looking for some last minute doodads before my trip to Bali tonight. I couldn't find them but I found an acceptable alternative. Once again the problem of finding hardware in Bali.
It's now 7:30pm and I'm at the airport. AA (I won't say the name! They've gone into my banned list.) .... not only have they messed up my booking .... wrong name! .... but the flight is now delayed by about 2-3 hours.
it will be the wee hours before I get to the villa!

#431 Thursday 17 November
Hi Y'all ... I'm in a good mood. Kaylia has been up since 3am but last night I was so tired (from the really bad night before) that I crashed at 7pm last night ... so being awake since 3am isn't too hard. I still feel as though I've had a good night's sleep.
I've just been down to Harvey Normans to buy an iPad for a client ... and while there and waiting, I browsed the shelves .... and I've been hooked by the latest generation of table running Win7 ... it is so very tempting. More research needed. If I sell my iPad, the changeover cost will be pretty small. I get so frustrated at not being able to use a spreadsheet properly on the iPad. The Win7 tablet would completely remove all the factors that are so frustrating to me. (and it's not Android!)
Kaylia was in fine form this morning on the way to school. I think she is practicing 'conversation' ... I can't understand the words but the tone is right and the eye-contact is right. She is soooo happy at present. It's such as shame when she is like this .... and she then is hit by the anxiety bug and she dissolves into a monster. Routine is so important.

#430 Wednesday 16 November
6:20am and the phone rings .... an NZ reference check for Sally! (Hi Sally) Life seems to be full of flashbacks .... yesterday I had a Skype call with Zoe ... it was at the office and everyone joined in the conversation! It was so good to talk to Zoe again .... she finishes her studies next June and it would be wonderful if she could come back to us. Kaylia clearly remembers Zoe .... normally when I ask Kaylia a question, she is fairly slow to answer and not clear. When asked about Zoe, the response was immediate and strong .... she clearly understood! Since it is nearly a year since Kaylia last saw Zoe, that response is quite remarkable.
Last night was bad for me ... I woke at about midnight with a bad episode of reflux .... it was hours till I could sleep again.

#429 Tuesday 15 November
Last night I bought a ticket for Naomi to go to Bali in March next year .... this is the only way that we get a real break from the "Auty" situation. Kaylia seems to be accepting the absence of one .... just not both.
When we're both away together during the day, Kaylia is fine with it .... but if her bed time routine is broken she has trouble. I suspect that if we both were away overnight she would stay awake till she was exhausted ... and then she would be in high anxiety when she woke. ...... and Naomi and I would not sleep for worry ... and for guilt about what we were putting her through. Plus guilt over the situation we had created for who ever was caring for Kaylia!
So any 'break' would be just the opposite!
Our little 'Bali breaks' are a good compromise. I go up on the coming Saturday for 4 days. Lots of work to be done. We're still working hard to get the villa ready for rental guests .... the trips aren't holidays! .... but they are good for "re-charging our batteries".

It was a good day yesterday .... Naomi was home .... good friends for lunch .... yummy food .... lots of natter after lunch ...
Kaylia was in high spirits today ... excited about her therapy session ....
All of you that haven't seen Kaylia for some time .... you'll be amazed at her progress. She's a kool dude! She's using speech more and more ... clearly understanding things that are happening round her.

#427 Sunday 13 November
We couldn't get back to sleep after the "midnight run" and so we're both on our iPad/Phone .... Kaylia is watching YouTube .... Wiggles .... and I'm writing the blog!
Since we have to get up to go to the airport soon, it doesn't really matter. Naomi gets home at 4am. We can all sleep in later.
Later: Yay! Mummy's home. Kaylia was very pleased ... she got hiccups and it made it hard for her to sleep again.
Sanggar and Vida are coming over today .... Indonesian lunch .... Yum.
