#714 Saturday 19 October

As the weather warms again, Kaylia has decided that it's time for "hose" again. We've moved the hose spot to the bricked area at the other side of the house and I've put up a suspended nozzle.....
Kaylia thinks it's pretty good .... It's like a rain shower.  She is clearly like Zoe (who likes to walk in the rain) and Kaylia likes being out in the rain too!

..... and while Kaylia is in "hose" .... Jo stays dry!

Later:
I've been reading the first days of this blog ...... gee we've come a long way since then!  The blog began with the torrid time we had in Bali .... and then our struggles with finding a medication mix that would work.  Life seems so easy now.
Back then the issue was to find a medication mix that would allow her to go to school.  Her stimming was so great that she couldn't learn.
Later .... at the office with play-dough

#712 Thursday 17 October

Between school and the afternoon walks with Jo, Kaylia is getting tired out .... she slept well.
Her pleasure and excitement about going to school is a joy to behold! I hope it keeps going.
The current educational spending cutbacks by the government are a worry .... the cuts have a real potential to directly affect Kaylia.   The resources allocated to children with disabilities looks like being reduced .... Kaylia will be in high school in four years .... will the special classes for children with autism even be in existence then?  We don't know.

#711 Wednesday 16 October

This is Kaylia using the 'smartboard' at school!

No wonder she likes school!  I'd like one of those .....

I have to 'make do' with my triple screen setup ....

(the new laptop .... courtesy of a client .... is great!  It has sockets for multiple monitors .... plug them in and it just works!)

Evening now .... Kaylia and I are "down in the basement"  .... she's on one computer with "Playschool" ..... and I'm on my computer blogging.  We've just been down the hill for some shopping ... an excuse for a car ride.  Kaylia had a lesson in choices .... I'd taken enough coins for an icecream ... and while at the IGA, she spotted the bubblegum machine.  I gave her the choice .... icecream or bublegum..... bubblegum she says!
Not long after she says "icecream?" ..... and I explained that she had chosen bubblegum... she couldn't have both.

#710 Tuesday 15 October

School is back!  Kaylia was so excited last night and this morning .... singing her head off and getting her school clothes ready.  The only cloud in the sky is Alison being sick ... so she misses out on therapy this afternoon.

As I was driving round today I found myself pondering new ways to entertain her .... and realised that it was a wasted effort as she just wants the same things over and over again!  It doesn't bother her that she does the same thing.  Last night she was listening to the opening credits of a Youtube program .... over and over and over!  Just the first 30 seconds.  After about twenty times we couldn't stand it ..... HEADPHONES KAYLIA!

Nighttime .... and speaking of headphones .... while settling Kaylia to sleep I've been listening to Passenger ... and thinking that Brynn gave me a great gift .... of all the new music that she introduced me to.   I wish she were still to tell me "Listen to this! ... or this!"

#709 Monday 14 October

Yesterday was a good, busy day.   The usual routine was followed for most of the day ..... so Kaylia's universe was in the right place!   Then mid afternoon we tidied the outside bricked area .... and set up her "hose" spot there.  She's happy!

In the evening we had a long Skype call with Zoe .... Kaylia listened at the same time as doing all her usual Wiggles.

Today?  ..... the last day of "little holiday" .... Yay!  ..... school tomorrow.

Later:   Oh Rats!  We've just learned that the person who was to be our next aupair has had to cancel as they must go back to Canada pronto.   Now we must do some quick searching for someone else!
