Our chooklins give us a lot of pleasure..... one of their favorite places to have a sand bath is just outside the kitchen window......

#2089 Sunday 21st March

It's 8.30am... sleep in Sunday. Kaylia has just discovered that my phone has Calendar on it..... and that she can look through all the dates for years ahead!    Boy.... when she works out that it's also on her phone and pad.....

Chateau progress.....  it's at the stage of fiddly finishing work so I've bought a new table saw to make it easier to do a better job.

This complements the compound mitre saw..... 

I often think of my father as I work..... he would love the way that tools have become so inexpensive.  When I was doing the finishing sanding of the walls, I was able to buy a specialized sanding machine for a price equivalent to an hour of labor! 

#2088 Saturday 20th March

The ball was a huge success.....  once again she danced every dance.  In the right situation she's a very "social" girl.

The chateau has now had its undercoat.....

Two weeks and all the painting will be done.  Then it will be floor and blinds. 

#2087 Thursday 18th March

Big excitement!  Tonight it's the Year 12 Ball.  Kaylia is very excited.  It's at the Crown Towers in Burswood and we're staying the night.  (Last year's ball was at Aqua and we stayed the night..... it was very successful so we're repeating the pleasure!)

#2086 Tuesday 9th march

The "bungalow" has been renamed...... it's now "the chateau" (lol).  David likes it.  It's progressing well... the bathroom is nearing completion with the toilet and drainage functional.  The shower base is being constructed.

The painting is starting this week. 

Kaylia is often a typical teenager these days.... most of the time she's her normal affectionate girl.....  and then the teenage monster emerges and she can have bouts of anger.  Usually it's period related so we know it will be gone soon.  It can be hard to take as she is still not good at verbalising her feelings.  Last week she was able to say "I'M ANGRY!"...... so we're making progress. 

#2085 Tuesday 2nd March

Kaylia's in the wars......  she's home early from school after having a gastro attack.  Poor thing.

...... but it's cleared up a mystery that we've had for the past couple of months.  She's been asking for...... "new doctor" repeatedly and it's been puzzling us.  Then I remembered that the last time she went to the doctor the usual GP wasn't available and she saw a different one..... New doctor!

Since she has the gastro I've made an appointment to see the "new doctor".

This morning we attended a teacher meeting to discuss plans for the coming year.  She will be starting work experience!

It's a lovely evening....



Naomi is in the garden watering..... we're waiting for an opportunity to catch one of the hens that has claws that need clipping.  She's a skittish hen and won't let us near.  Of course when we aren't planning on a capture, then she will climb into our lap!
