Lots of days still to go

Good morning all!
This blogging thing is an interesting phenomenon (I struggled for the right word there ... I was about to reduce it to lesser words but they don't convey the sense of blogging being an unusual .... new .... not experienced before sort of thing.) As I read the blog from others ... and emails from people who don't use a blog .... it gives a sense of community. In todays world we have lost much of the community aspect of life .... the car means that we usually don't interact with our neighbors .... but we don't have an alternative way to 'connect' with people .... so we function as individuals rather than as a community. The blog (as a medium) becomes a way that we share our life with others .... we gain support from others that read our own blog ... and we give support to the people whose blogs we read.

K Status: High today. The forecast is for good energy and lots of running around! This morning Naomi was doing her little thing of singing a song about coming events .... and Kaylia joined in too. She sings really well with a good voice already. She's going to be such a good singer as she grows up.

Last night Zoe was in the depths of despair with a massive virus problem on her laptop ... as nearly always happens, her backups were not up to date and it looked as though she would lose some stuff. All was not lost though!! Tina came to the rescue and after much work, the damage has been repaired and Zoe's laptop is functional once more!

{At this point turn on your imagination ..... that archetype seductress Marlene Deitrich ... the modern IT savvy version ... has strolled over and she casts a sultry look over her shoulder as she announces [German accent] "Don't vurry darlinks ... it vas yoost a leetle male-vaere progrum!"}

I'm surrounded by champions!

Zoe & Tina are going down to Penguin Island today .... don't worry ... they're NOT going to walk after the turn of the tide!! (This island has been the scene of several fatalities after silly people have attempted to walk the sandbar back to the mainland after the tide has turned).

Later: Kaylia's anxiety has been very high today. For her it takes the form of loudly wanting something .... then not wanting it when she gets it .... then wanting people .... Today she wanted to go for a swim ... then when we arrive at the swimming pool, she refuses to get out of the car and wants to go home! She's done that twice today. She then started going through all her people (Yes Zoe ..... she was asking for you!) After many rounds of this with me constantly telling her "No, mummy is not here" etc, she finally gave up and her anxiety has dropped greatly. There's a lesson here .... don't give in. Giving in does not reduce the anxiety. Just answer the request with a yes or no .... but don't give in.

Later again: This afternoon Kaylia had some "Kym time" ..... she seemed very relieved to see Kym and we wonder if part of Kaylia's anxiety is because she has had two weeks without seeing Kym at all. Many of her verbal "request" could be interpreted as wanting to go to Kym's .... perhaps that has been part of the problem?
