The problem is that Kaylia appears to be a normal child to most people ..... it's only when you observe her and try to interact that the disability becomes obvious. This is where we will need to be very protective of her for a long time to come.

#1241 Saturday 11 October
Yesterday we had an experience that maybe a warning of future experiences. We were at the shops and returning to the car .... Kaylia opened her door and got in just as the owner of the car next to us arrived. Kaylia's door knocked the car next to ours but of course Kaylia didn't notice. It didn't deny but did leave a dot of blue paint on their silver paint. The car owner was angry that Kaylia had ignored her and had not apologized. We had to explain that she has autism and doesn't speak. Of course Kaylia wouldn't have been aware of the door or the angry person.
