During breakfast on Sunday, Naomi was spreading peanut paste on her pancake .... the last bit in the container was used ..... and without any prompting, Kaylia noticed this and reached over to pass a new jar of peanut paste to Naomi! To me this is a very significant thing because it means that Kaylia was aware of things that were happening around her. In the past, she would have been so inwardly focused that she would not have been aware of what was happening for Naomi.
It means that Kaylia is growing and developing. We often can't tell just how she is developing because of the poor language skills ..... and when we see indicators (like the one I have just spoken of) we often don't see the indicator because the behaviour is such a normal part of life.
